Love for Sale
Numerical hearts
Categorized with serial numbers
When emotions become currency in binding transactions
Money scams at the cost of sentiment
For paper hearts and broken memories
And break the juxtaposition between love and hate
Senses demoralized,
Numbed down by a corporate America.
Love bought not won
Relationships signed with ink not blood
And before you know it love is on ..sale.

Where is Love?
Searching for love
But where is it?
Could it be under a rock?
Or perhaps beneath the sand
On some tropical beach in Tahiti
Where X marks the spot.
Is it in the sea?
Inside some sunken ship,
Guarded by a squid or shark.
How about atop a mountain?
Snow covered
Surrounded by steep, icy slopes.
Or maybe it's deep inside a cave,
Cloaked in the darkness
Waiting silently to be found.
Could it be at the end of a rainbow?
Bathed in shimmering light
But only to appear on rainy days.
So I search high and low,
Far and...

Love at a Distance
It's been too long since we've lain
Beneath the blanket of night, dotted with millions of stars
Holding you close after so long.
But our meeting is short lived
For you must leave me
To be miles afar,
Only to meet for a single summer's night.
But despite our distance we hold true to each other's faith
Our hearts intertwined,
Connected by the miles of telephone line that stretches between us.
Tied like the endless sky we lie beneath
Stars aligned above us like maps to each other's arms
Everlasting light, burning bright
Like our love
That...

Letter to an Unknown Heart
To the Heart of my Future Love,
Have you ever heard the song "I knew I loved you" by Savage Garden?
I have,
And I feel that it's you and me
Do you feel the same?
You know, I wonder, how will we meet?
Will I simply pass you by on the street,
With a gentle wave and a smile?
Or will you be bold and flamboyant
Out to capture my attention?
Or maybe quiet and gentle
Trying to lure me in with your sweet serenity.
But when will we meet?
Today?
Tomorrow?
How about next week?
Or maybe next year?
Could I wait that...

Curse this shattered mirror
For showing me such a dilapidated figure
Nothing left but a broken down man
Suspended in space
A soul in absolute atrophy
Crumbling away like barren rubble
A ruined citadel wasting away from years of battering abuse
Eyes so hollow and empty
Deep pools of inky waste
Drowning the light beneath a frozen sky
Heart strings all unraveled and knotted
Nothing left but the black, gooey center
Bubbling without its wrappings
Corrupted and tarnished by all the lies and manipulation
Emaciated and weak
Struggling to...

Renewed
Light me afire with your kiss
And let your vigor flow into me
Make me shiver with your gentle touch
And keep me warm as you hold me close
Give me a head rush running your fingers through my hair
And lull me in your cool serenity
Feel my heartbeat quicken as you tell me you love me
And whisper your undying devotion as you lie in my arms
Time stood still as we pledged our love
And we marked one another with invisible binding scars
Now we lie enthralled in the love we made
And the night falls upon us as we drift into dreams
You pull me close...
And let your vigor flow into me

Paradise on the Gallows
So call upon your broken paradise
But let me see the light of day
Or will you damn that too?
Hundreds of fatal incisions
Caused by the razorblades of your love…
Or so you called it.
Acting so feeble minded
But in truth I know you were the mastermind
The cause of my wandering abandonment
I won’t be forsaken,
Nor forgotten.
So let the sands of time coil round my neck
Tie your noose and pull it tight
Hang me for the world to see
But let me see that paradise,
One.
Last.
Time.
But let me see the light of day
Or will you damn that too?

First Come First Serve
Who’s going to hell first?
Is it you? Or me?
All the wrongs we’ve plagued against us
And the lack of sympathies
But I did you justice
What have you given me?
Was my love for you really a crime,
A sin painted in bloodied sacrifice?
Or did you treat it as such
To look like the victim?
But I’ll see you, see you in the end
You’ll share the fate you’ve forsaken to me
I’ll see you when the blinding light encloses your soul
And the darkness clothes your body
I’ll see you there
Who’s going to burn...

Darkness in my Wake
And darkness walks with me…
As I walk towards the light
The shadows guide me,
Holding my hand along the way
In the blackened void I find the beauty.
Laying in this broken down casket
The ashes of our death to comfort me
You run your fingers across my face
Cold
Your touch? Your fingers?
Or my still and quiet body?
Bury your head in my chest for the last time
Hollow
My heart? My soul?
Or your kisses and your love?
So seal the lid as you did our fate

Drown Me With Lithium
A clandestine obsidian tar drips down the chasms
Glistening like the ebony backs of deadly scarabs
Filled with a sticky venom
Corroding my mind
Slowly burning a hole in my existence
But you leave me to drown
Watching the oil drag me under
That lithium coating my mind and body
Drowned in the toxic love you gave me
Only to turn me inside out
Breathe into me your ignited inferno
A breath laced with charred abrasions
Slicing up my insides
So cut me open to see the ashen interior
And let that inky sludge drip from my remains
Do you see...

Finger Painting With Blood
Am I fine again?
Or has my lucidity failed me,
Corrupted by that deep depression that seems to lie dormant
Only to come out and posses my heart and haunt my mind on varied occasions.
Ravens on the horizon
A black sky mirrored back from these ebony coated eyes.
Sitting in this room,
Staring at the walls
Should I remodel? Repaint it all?
Is it selfish to do this? Ruin the lives of others?
No…
Entering a ghastly rage and stripping the walls bare.
A pale blue lying underneath,
Beneath the plasticity
But I dream of flames,
A vibrant...

My Hidden Insanities
Scars will always mark me
But the toxicity in these veins veils my insanity.
Look hard into these pools of oil
Through the hollowed pathways leading to my core
But aren’t they supposed to reflect my soul?
Instead they soak in the light, a charred out void
Coated in blackened ash
Dead, barren, rotten and cold
Shadows shift on the red horizon inside
Ghostly figures frozen in time,
Broken down to desolate forms
Screams of agony chiseled on their faces
And the silence is so deafening it can’t be heard
Leaving you with a migraine that won’t go...
