POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Into Bravery
I took my first steps into Bravery today,
into a place so long left unvisited
as to be almost unrecognizable.
Faint echos of past Good Deeds
still haunt this cave,
reminding me that it was once a place
both treasured and loved.
A step further into Courage,
and past Happiness shimmers in the dark.
Why had I left this place so long?
Why had I let the corners gather cobwebs and mold?
With these small shuffles,
I move deeper towards Valor.
This feels like coming home.
into a place so long left unvisited
as to be almost unrecognizable.
Faint echos of past Good Deeds
still haunt this cave,
reminding me that it was once a place
both treasured and loved.
A step further into Courage,
and past Happiness shimmers in the dark.
Why had I left this place so long?
Why had I let the corners gather cobwebs and mold?
With these small shuffles,
I move deeper towards Valor.
This feels like coming home.

Spontaneous Evolution
I have placed myself at cliff's edge
and told myself jump,
you'll learn to fly on the way down.
You might hit the rocks, yes,
but you also might spontaneously evolve wings.
Wearing a calm face while looking down feels unnatural,
but also the only choice.
I shall fly or I shall fall,
but I will have lived.
and told myself jump,
you'll learn to fly on the way down.
You might hit the rocks, yes,
but you also might spontaneously evolve wings.
Wearing a calm face while looking down feels unnatural,
but also the only choice.
I shall fly or I shall fall,
but I will have lived.
