POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Vegas in winter
The gravity of sunshine screams in whispered pleas.
I salute her milky orchid with care, not to infect her with my poison,
but to taste her weakened heart.
I want to be the good wife with no secrets, but we all do.
My lips carry a sisterly truth, you will never know my frailness
or my shame or my sweet sickness.
I yearn for your warmth underneath my blankets, daily
I read your words.

Mon coeur
I stumble through darkness, malevolent and frightful.
Mortal lips wither and decay, I call out seeking your hand.
My mirror my starry blessing, pour your luster into my soul.
Mortal lips wither and decay, I call out seeking your hand.
My mirror my starry blessing, pour your luster into my soul.

Past Life
Zen numbness is my satori.
One more vodka shot to kill my desires that stalk my monkey brain,
where sisters and mothers and daughters bleed,
hands sewn together in ritual marriage,
I dream of satori in a hazy hospital room,
my life is theirs,
please reincarnate my soul,
we will meet again and again, I hope
laughing and smiling at our new bodies,
our roles reversed, always in love
drinking through the night till we black-out.

Perfection Unmasked
Orchids lined up in a garden,
prisoners of their unnatural form.
Shadows flicker on a teal wall,
orchids rust swaying to car-horns and city-lights.
Hands tarnish their Van Gogh brushstrokes,
orchids collapse in frame and watercolor.

No mothers live here
Behind closed doors, I am
my skin
my rotten skin
my corpse
I am
a graveyard
I sleep with dust
I eat it
I revel in it
ghostly children litter our home.

Theatre of the absurd in C minor
I met a clown who wrote a love letter to a donkey,
it was laced with absinthe and opium.
I praise muses, devils, and automatons;
careful to deconstruct my hunger in maggots and flies.
I live in consonants and vowels covered in garlic and ginger,
I paint my lips in soy sauce noodles.
I am no chartreuse charlatan;
just a writer who dines with donkeys blessed by Vishnu.
Yell and scream till the neighbors call the police.

Bones
Rage lives in my fingertips.
I want to break you endlessly--
(said the spider to the fly)
I distrust the unseen,
The ghosts that beg and plead.
(said the fly to the spider)
Please give me joy,
Let me break your bones.
(said both the spider and the fly)

Valkyries
Pure maidens called by Odin, fiery hearts forged in battle.
He commands your devotion, he commands your service.
Yoke your soul to his filthy hands, only men enter Valhalla.
Star maidens cursed by Odin, your fiery hearts now enflame.
Serve them mead by word and deed, succor their souls on war-songs.
Star maidens reject your master, embrace your sword and sing your song.

an empty bed
My soul sleeps uneasy and, I dream of you my barren orchid.
Your pale lips were frail petals, no easy bloom guaranteed.
Please linger and be merciful, my emptiness knows no end.

We were angels
Two sparrows pirouette, through pale blue skies and soft winds.
Two sparrows serenade, their lonely souls briefly call out.
O' songbirds of day and twilight, never deny your rapture.

I want to be free with you
I covet spiders, their language seemingly frail.
I love their eyes, frayed uneven and perfectly threadbare.
I covet spiders, such beauty mirrored in disgust.
I love their hands, a sculptor's joy married to their hunger.
I covet spiders, they sleep with me in bed.
I love their lips, wondrously painted in ritual blood.
I covet spiders, such lovely children.
I love their shadows, delicate and predatory.
I covet spiders, let me eat your flesh.

Kim Jong-un, Child-King of a dying nation
Oh sickly dragon, your cancerous eye
drifts too far from home.
Your precious children, beaten starved and reeducated,
will one day consume your blood and breath.
Fear them as you once feared your father,
death comes when the last child dies.
drifts too far from home.
Your precious children, beaten starved and reeducated,
will one day consume your blood and breath.
Fear them as you once feared your father,
death comes when the last child dies.
