Embedded in a mountain
Stone walls the facade
Access,
a singular draw bridge
No external garden
No manicured lawns
No white picket fence
No welcome sign
Behold a fortress,
wrought iron strong hold
The arched portcullis
a defensive masterpiece
Impervious wooden doors
Constructed of iron and wood
Visitors prohibited
Secured by fetterlocks
Entry restricted
An invitation required
The fortress of secrets
Open mysterious hours
Beyond the stone ...

Senses
Light awaits
at the end of a tunnel"
I see no light
"Hope rises like a phoenix
from the ashes of shattered dreams"
I feel no hope
"Rise above the storm,
and you will find sunshine"
I taste rain
"To plant a garden is to believe
in tomorrow.”
I smell no flowers
"Nothing is so healing
as the human touch"
I touch my shadow
at the end of a tunnel"

Torture her mind
Plague by insecurities

Overwhelmed
She may never understand
Comfort found
Pressed against the wall
Staring at the floor
Invisibility key
Avoiding eye contact
Rarely glancing up

His iron tongue scorches,
the vapour invisible
Cocooning her nature,
devouring her confidence,
transforming, her ribbons of light
His way or the highway
Stupid woman, understand!
noxious smoke chokes her voice
as a python constricts it kill
Her spark occasionally flickers
Unable to escape his iron wall,
only smoldering embers remain
Isolation, despair
and stolen dreams.

If she unshackles the past

Putting aside her own ideals

Having faith she's done enough

Of hearing what is said

listening to interpret
or simply to correspond
Response,
Ensure the point isn't missed
or the senders feelings dismissed
Unhealthy is, communication defiance
Truth,

forever sits in between
Growth if all sides are examined
