Image for the poem Regret

Overloaded with Information
Google adds confusion
Failing to gain insight
Feeling alone and preoccupied
Sweat covers her  fingertips
Desperately she scrolls
Searching for details
her anxiety takes control
Unsure of what she'll find
Regret adds tension
Conflicting facts confusing
Potentially devastating impact
Overcome with guilt
Wondering why
she was lazy
Disrespecting her body
Pink ribbons the sign
A simple exercise
Five minutes the sacrifice
Imagining her children
Devastated by grief
Would they understand
Stalling doesn't offer long term relief
As an ostrich stands
his head below the ground
Hiding gains nothing
Unless its an early coffin
Gazing at her reflection
Realisation dawns
Is she too late
In her eyes, tears form
Tenderly touching her breast
Repulsed by the lump
In order to move forward
Regular checking a must
and seeking professional help
