POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Reflecting Rays of Sunlight
Shinning bright and brilliant,
A flame so enormous and consuming;
You are the sun
That gives light to all those around
Especially me, the moon.
I can only reflect
Your rays of intensity,
Only a dim glow
Seen as a small, pale circle
And sometimes less.
Though I can’t say I mind
As I’m nothing without you anyway.
Just a dark sphere of rock
Without you there to illuminate me.
Hidden in amongst stars,
Craving your warmth;
I’m content being the one
Noticed only in your shadow,
In your absence, ...
A flame so enormous and consuming;
You are the sun
That gives light to all those around
Especially me, the moon.
I can only reflect
Your rays of intensity,
Only a dim glow
Seen as a small, pale circle
And sometimes less.
Though I can’t say I mind
As I’m nothing without you anyway.
Just a dark sphere of rock
Without you there to illuminate me.
Hidden in amongst stars,
Craving your warmth;
I’m content being the one
Noticed only in your shadow,
In your absence, ...

You Don't Wish on a Rose
A rose is so marvelously red,
A deep crimson if you will
And symbolizes love.
Yet the petals will wither
And the crimson will dry up,
Becoming nothing more than an
Ugly brown, like blood.
So, is it any wonder that we make wishes on dandelions instead?
A weed so simply pleasant;
Yellow petals turn into white fluff
That catches the wind and
Floats about after being cast off
By a puff of air from ahappy child
Letting their wish fly with it.
Then it falls and sprouts again.
And with it, a wish blossoms, too.
A deep crimson if you will
And symbolizes love.
Yet the petals will wither
And the crimson will dry up,
Becoming nothing more than an
Ugly brown, like blood.
So, is it any wonder that we make wishes on dandelions instead?
A weed so simply pleasant;
Yellow petals turn into white fluff
That catches the wind and
Floats about after being cast off
By a puff of air from ahappy child
Letting their wish fly with it.
Then it falls and sprouts again.
And with it, a wish blossoms, too.
