Hopscotch Dreams
The sidewalk chalk hurts
Crumbling beneath feet that remember
I want to crawl
Memories abound
Threatening to destroy what little semblance of normalcy
I’ve constructed
Do you hear the wind?
It calls me as I stare
Pink lines drawn on concrete
Boundaries I could not see
Childhood dreams washed away through a river of tears
Who teaches a child to cry?
I’d rather sing
Crumbling beneath feet that remember
I want to crawl
Memories abound
Threatening to destroy what little semblance of normalcy
I’ve constructed
Do you hear the wind?
It calls me as I stare
Pink lines drawn on concrete

You, The Man Who Bears His Soul Silently
I understand your need for anonymity
While part of you wants to shoutout your intentions
You know I will not turn you away
Although we have never met
I know how to fulfill what you desire silently
How to ease your troubles
We have that understanding
Acceptance
I know your need to rescue me from the jadedness
You desire a simple life for me
We have that understanding
Although we have never met
In dreams we hold hands while sitting on a dock ...
While part of you wants to shoutout your intentions
You know I will not turn you away
Although we have never met
I know how to fulfill what you desire silently
How to ease your troubles
We have that understanding
Acceptance
I know your need to rescue me from the jadedness
You desire a simple life for me
We have that understanding
Although we have never met
In dreams we hold hands while sitting on a dock ...

A Certain Type of Addiction
She’d rather not go to meetings and read the Big Book
She’d rather not be told that to touch yourself is disallowed
That fantasy is prohibited
And that carnality is a character flaw
She’d rather be entangled in sheets
Working out her problems in sighs and moans
She’d rather leave bodies panting in her wake
Obsess over the next session
And fantasize that she will be rescued from life
By the one person that will rock her world
She’d rather not be told that to touch yourself is disallowed
That fantasy is prohibited
And that carnality is a character flaw
She’d rather be entangled in sheets
Working out her problems in sighs and moans
She’d rather leave bodies panting in her wake
Obsess over the next session
And fantasize that she will be rescued from life
By the one person that will rock her world

Adorn My Body with Your Words - Written With My Good Friend, Trillium
Watching you write
Your beauty I behold
Total concentration shaping letters with your inked brush
Stroke by stroke
Perfect
Elegant
Beautiful
Binding your words to paper
Ink bottle and sable brush in hand
You turn your attention to me
I want to feel delicate hairlines
Barely perceptible, tickling
Forceful downstrokes, fanning over my skin
What words will you adorn me with? ...

Spilling Ink - A Collaboration With Trillium
Yellow glow of candles rare
Jazz like smoke in perfumed air
silk scarves binding wrists
ankles
eyes and hair
making a body fair
a naked cross, sultry bare
(It's like he's crawled up inside my nightly dreams
Could this really be?)
Now isn't this a pretty sight?
What to do, what to do
(Relieve me of this need
On my waiting body feed)
I will spill your ink all over you...
Jazz like smoke in perfumed air
silk scarves binding wrists
ankles
eyes and hair

Four-thirty in the Morning is an Ungodly Hour
I did it today
I was up with the worms
That don’t seem to be around as much anymore
Not like the days after it rained
Where you could find me with a bucket and dirt in hand
Screeching that I caught another
Dad’s fishing lure was my job
Along with his lunches for work
Sandwiches with butter no matter the fixins
Gross
Worse than the worms, actually
I refused to eat anything with butter for a long time
Especially mom’s famous “steak bread”
Don’t ask
Sometimes missing out...

A Solitary Daisy
Planted along a worn rickety fence
In the front yard of a paint peeled white house
Stands a solitary daisy
Among blades of grass taller than she
A waft of her feint cheerful scent
Carried by the warm summer morning breeze
Brushes past me as I bend to bend to pick her
I am amazed at the simplicity she radiates
Graceful, dainty petals swaying
Strong, rooted stem giving way
I tenderly place her in my long, curly fire hair
Humbled by her innocence
I seemingly become to be as...

Penny Candy Thoughts
My throat burns sugar
Hot cinnamon thoughts
Unraveled my dreams
Love in a clear glass jar
Twirling frizzy fire hair
Gaze darting
On tips of saddle shoes
I choose wisely
My sad candy

Unraveled my dreams
Love in a clear glass jar

Gaze darting
On tips of saddle shoes
I choose wisely

Snow Globe Syndrome
Little girl lost, lost her way
Desperately broke free from her cage today
She lost count of herself along the way
Packed up her memories and walked
away
Born to a family of evil origin
Baby girl was never even given a chance to begin
The toy discarded and thrown back in the bin
She waited for a kind of love that was never given
A roof, some clothes and food to eat
Bonds not formed, neglect on repeat
Held down from becoming complete
How could they so callously mistreat?
She became...

Narcissist in Love’s Clothing
You really had no idea
That I would call you
On your bullshit
But it took me
Only took me
A short minute
To realize
That your negativity
Blame
Defensiveness
And disdain
For the truth
Of my love
Showed me
The new you
A narcissist
In love’s clothing
That I would call you
On your bullshit
But it took me
Only took me
A short minute

That your negativity

Defensiveness
