POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
You will find the deepest and most darkly of spoken words wrought from my consciousness. I am a Mistress but also enslaved to that which is a part of us all, the darkest of devils, the Night Himself.
Awry
Is this the last goodbye?
The last time you see me cry?
No, you didn't notice,
I hid behind a door,
A knife in my hand
Contemplating if I deserve worse.
I feel remorse,
I feel shame,
I feel regret.
The shadows are closing in,
This night is the last I am.
You profess your love
While resenting the monster inside,
An unlovable being that I have become.
The night shows the depth
Of this cold, pitiless wretch.
No longer bound,
No longer chained,
You are free to leave.
But please, I beg of you,
Do not torment this...
The last time you see me cry?
No, you didn't notice,
I hid behind a door,
A knife in my hand
Contemplating if I deserve worse.
I feel remorse,
I feel shame,

The Summoned
While I sat in the dead shadows,
Sometime after midnight,
When I should have given up
And gone to sleep,
I summoned a dreadful thing.
It crept into the room,
Its shadow bared on the wall,
And the flame of the candle
Danced about.
As I sat, whispering its spell
There was a breaking down
Of the otherworldly realm.
Its talon claws wrapped around
Grasping my soul,
Claiming it was no longer mine.
My heart sunk low in my chest,
And I held my breath,
"What have I done?" I asked.
The darkness...

The Storm
Another night
Of the same old,
Same old.
It feels like it should be raining
To match the storm inside my head.
Thoughts float by
On the wind of rememberance,
The clouds a cage of forgotten heartbreak.
And when it rains
It churns the mud of ambivalence,
I gave my word I would never again
Relieve the pain.
But to see the red river flow
Brings the promise
Of abandoned anguish.
The waters of despair pool
In the outwardly hardened heart,
But as I dip my hand in the darkly ink
My consciousness glows.

Smoking in the Dark
Bitter sweet is the circle
In which we roam,
Around and around
It never ceases,
It never dies,
This game we call Life.
And here I sit
Alone in the dark,
Smoking my last cigarette.
Thinking of a time
When actions spoke louder
Than the words they sit upon.
We tried so hard to be different,
Different than the cruel
And unforgiving world
That we live in.
What was it that he said?
What a wonderful world…
Could there be
A more forgotten joke?
On and on we go,
Driving ourselves mad.
Mad with temptation,...
In which we roam,
Around and around
It never ceases,
It never dies,
This game we call Life.
And here I sit
Alone in the dark,
Smoking my last cigarette.
Thinking of a time

The Promises You Made
No sleep comes this night,
So deprived.
All I feel is the icy coldness
Of genuine rejection.
My heart longs for your touch
But you turn away
While I weep and feel
The pain.
Oh, can't you see
What you are doing to me?
We were meant for more than this,
These hollow and oxygen deprived
Affections.
You speak as if we are friends,
But are we not more?
Are we not lovers?
We share the gift
That we brought into this world,
The ring on my finger
Should tell all, but
The lie is hidden, etched
On the inside.
I beg...
So deprived.
All I feel is the icy coldness
Of genuine rejection.
My heart longs for your touch
But you turn away
While I weep and feel
The pain.
Oh, can't you see
What you are doing to me?

Hiding Inside
Why am I like this?
What monster have I become?
I'm wrong in what I say,
Do and how I act.
It started with one thing,
And ended up a hundred.
The pain multiplied,
And has driven me under.
I cannot feel yet I feel, nonetheless.
Trapped in an isolated world
That is cold beyond rest.
The hurt won't leave, it clings
To my soul,
No amount of forgiveness
Can undo what has been done.
Bereft of happiness,
I know only what I've lost.
The sinking feeling that I, Yes I,
Am undeniably lost.
Engulfed in torments
That haunt...
What monster have I become?
I'm wrong in what I say,
Do and how I act.
It started with one thing,
And ended up a hundred.

And has driven me under.

The Joker
The Joker dances
And laughs,
In this deep cimmerian night.
Chains dance,
My bondage unknown to man,
The dusk envelopes us both
As He kisses
My tear stained cheek.
His icy hands
Caressing my skin,
My vision emulsified,
A fools notion
To believe I am free.
The light fades
As the dark comes home,
No words are spoken
No whimpers are loosed
As I turn my head,
Envisioning a better place
Than this cage inside my head.
The gleam in my eyes
Dies with every touch,
This grave figure
Who hovers so near,
This...

The Black Knight
The darkness caresses,
It seeks the sweet spot,
Its breath cold on my skin.
Its eyes roam,
Like my lover of eternity
It wants to devour.
It kisses me sweetly,
Ever so gently.
Now is the moment
That my heart turns to ice,
My breath quickens
As it slips inside.
The thunder is a chorus,
A melody,
To the everlasting lovemaking
Of the forbidden darkness.
The rain shatters all it caresses
Making my skin like an arctic landscape.
And I dance in the shadows,
The shadows of men long past,
Who cry out in the dead of night...
It seeks the sweet spot,
Its breath cold on my skin.
Its eyes roam,
Like my lover of eternity
It wants to devour.
It kisses me sweetly,
Ever so gently.
Now is the moment
That my heart turns to ice,
My breath quickens
