POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
"Maths is harder than remembering to breathe," Ralph Wiggum.
Connection
Our hands travel across memories,
Experiences and emotions.
Tentative at first, then faster, deeper. We both bleed the same shade of red, it tickles down from wounds, past and present,
Mingling as one.
To tear down defences and pull off masks,
At last.
We are layed bare.
We collide, sensitive and raw,
Whittled down to our nerves.
Closer together then when bodies join,
But that too, a part of the connection we share.
Breathing in sync, acutely aware of pain, longing and ostracisation we have shared.
These things have carved...
Experiences and emotions.
Tentative at first, then faster, deeper. We both bleed the same shade of red, it tickles down from wounds, past and present,
Mingling as one.
To tear down defences and pull off masks,
At last.
We are layed bare.

Whittled down to our nerves.
Closer together then when bodies join,
But that too, a part of the connection we share.
Breathing in sync, acutely aware of pain, longing and ostracisation we have shared.

Dance dance,
You're my puppet on a string.
When I cut you loose I
Won't
Feel anything,
Because I still have my
Real boys.
Cut you loose
Into my emotional fire.
You'll burn
And keep me warm,
It's all you're good for.
I'm the one who carved you,
Painted rosy cheeks and
Smiles on blank wood.
You can only move when I want you to.
Dance dance,
You're my puppet on a string. ...

Fostering, Choice
They drift in, claim everything.
Steal the rest.
How could things so young destroy everything?
I try not to blame them, they came for help. Even if I wouldn't have chosen my refuge to be theirs.
They test the saints patience who I don't have faith in.
The ones who caused this mess pass them off, never suffering any consequences.
Where's the justice in this?
"Did no one tell you? It doesn't exist. It's survival of the fittest."
Well, I'd like to live not just exist.
Steal the rest.

Obsession
about a former friend turned stalker, these are all real texts she has sent me over a few weeks, with some of my own words injected to structure the poem. I turned it into a poem to help cope with the stress of the situation*
Obsession
Don't you love me anymore? I haven't forgotten about us. Our good times. We had no bad days, so why?!
I can't let you go
I can't let you go
I can't let go.
I'm scared, fill me up with your love. You're my best friend, I wanted us to be more. I've called a thousand times, I'll call a thousand more.
I can't let you...

The tides
Does it hurt when you hurt yourself?
Not always.
I miss you,
I'm so far away.
I search, but it only leads me to
Salty water.
I'm trapped here, so I'm free to go
Anywhere.
I want to stay with you.
Not always.
I miss you,
I'm so far away.
I search, but it only leads me to
Salty water.
I'm trapped here, so I'm free to go
Anywhere.
I want to stay with you.

Priceless beyond compare
Sanctuary, sanctuary in your arms, stronger than granite, softer than a doves wing,
Precious to me.
A heart dripping rubies,
Precious to me.
An accepting mind more clear than my former self tears,
Precious to me.
Eyes sparkle diamonds,
Precious to me.
A love more vibrant than any colour could ever be, yet it does not blind me,
Precious to me.
Lips kiss bruises upon my heart, leaving their mark, as not to be forgotten,
Precious to me.
Every part of you is priceless beyond compare,
For you are the best part of me.

Transient Girls
I literally cannot wait for this party tonight," Said Chloe, a teenage girl wearing fashionable wide rim black glasses (yes, prescription actually) and platinum hair.
The diner was 50's retro styled, using 2013 materials. From the other side of the red leather booth a laugh was heard. A painfully beautiful woman pops up behind Chloe.
"I wouldn't go if I were you. Midnight is when they will come. Don't be around when they do."
Chloe's friends snickered but she was unnerved. She stared at the beautiful stranger and she stared back. The frightful womans eyes shimmered briefly. She...

The King of the Faeries
Take me with a kiss, on your gossamer wings.
I can't let them!
Don't break the silence, too many pieces to pick up again.
Damn it Oberon, I'd forgotten how much I'd hated you.
Scarlet red, lots of pain.
No blood.
The lovers are asleep, what do they dream?
I envy them.
You're still so high and mighty, just like you've always been.
Perhaps my rage burns brightest
For you
Because you brought me into a world
I hate
So much and you won't let me leave it.
You are selfish!
I can't let them!
Don't break the silence, too many pieces to pick up again.

My Home
wrote this for Moonfire Lark, the love of my life*
You make me feel safe,
Within your words
I find sanctuary.
Encase me in your love,
Weathering the storm
Inside my head,
Together.
You hold the other side of me
And I hold you too,
In-perfect balance.
You make me feel safe,
Within your words
I find sanctuary.
Encase me in your love,
Weathering the storm
Inside my head,
Together.
You hold the other side of me
And I hold you too,
In-perfect balance.

Dear brother (formally known as A$$hole)
Do you really want a moment of bliss by pissing on others to stamp out their happiness? Someone else's mistakes, misery and just plain bad luck make you laugh?
If that's a yes then you may want to try a few days at spreading happiness.
Don't expect too much, you won't win any awards for holding a door open for someone, but it might surprise you to feel something when you see another persons gratefulness.
I'm not going to lie and say it's all fairy floss and rainbows from that point on and I'm not telling you what you should do (I'm not a government or religion, you won't go...

A small favour
Here's a bit of background information on this.
It is one of the first stories I really dedicated myself to writing, it was also the first I ever did solely on my phone, with no hard copies.
A friend mentioned at the time she had difficulty reading it because of my punctuation and grammar. I thought it was perfectly fine and she was crazy.
When I returned to finish the story I realise what she meant. I had to spend a long time fixing everything up, and rewriting it pretty much.
I think it's still hugely flawed, but I find it shows me how far (or not) I've come. If you see...
