Downhill
Finally family and friends gone
I had to kick them out of my home
How dare they intervene into my life?
Over a substance that’s already controlled
Remotely that is why I turned them off
For a white girl who’s skin is so soft.
I await the day to prove them wrong
Checking the voice mail on my phone
What I am hearing has me speechless
Oh my Jesus
I’ve been fired!
What am I to do?
Suddenly the door bell rings
I can hear the fat lady singing
As I open up the door
It’s my land lord bringing
Me papers that reads eviction....
I had to kick them out of my home

My Sweet Chocolate Treat
I look into the mirror with no reflection
A black man trapped in darkness searching for light.
Double clicked on my Internet icon
Ventured onto Myspace,
Browsed through a couple of profiles
Before this one pic caught my eye.
She was as lovely as a rose
Her pose any man would behold
Could she be my sweet chocolate treat?
I pause,
Sit back in my chair and gasp for air
For her beauty has stolen my breath away.
I need oxygen,
Rush outside to feel the summer breeze
Could she be the one?
Mind freezes,
I head back into the house,...

My Woman
Ever since my divorce I have listened to family, friends, and even co-workers
Tell me that love have been missing me
But through the power of prayer, through the power of God
My Lord has sent me an angel unto me now love has welcomed me back.
And those that laughed at me and ridiculed me can now see the smile on my face,
The swag in my step, hear the base in my voice,
All due to you my precious jewel for whom I thank God for.
Excited is what I feel knowing each hour, minute, or second I get to spend with you
Whether it's online, or in person, a phone call, or...

Rehab
I've fallen on hard times
And physically and mentally I’m tired
Tired of running this cocaine race
Taking a glance into the mirror and was unable to see my face.
Reflecting thoughts,
For now I see what family and friends have been seeing that I’m addicted to cocaine.

Infatuated by this drug I allowed this substance to take control over me
To where family and friends thought best to intervene
As they saw my life spiraling downhill
I became blinded to the fact that I was lost
Not wanting to be found
Bound that if I continued on this cocaine...
And physically and mentally I’m tired
Tired of running this cocaine race

Your overwhelming strength, like a magnet
Pulls me to you, scares me closer
Your laugh, a delicious infection
That spreads a tingle through my body
Wishing a pill could make this stop
I close my eyes at night
Imagining myself blanketed in your arms
My neck warmed by your breath
Our bodies entwined in blissful calm

Falling down
Deep down into an abyss
Water blurs my vision
Tears of loneliness
I can’t sleep, eat, or have myself a good time
Wishing this rain would stop
Pain now blocks my sunshine
I really do miss my online girl.
For without her,
My world is filled with complete darkness
Empty like a black hole
No sun shines on me.

The best night of my life
I had the best night of my life,
And if I had to pick one word to describe it that word would be magical
Disney could not have taken me on a ride like this lovely woman did.
Her conversation like a soldier had me at attention
Her sweet touch healed every wound that I was suffering from
This woman has breathed new life into me
I have been reborn again.
Oh what a feeling it is to be loved
And speaking of love she electrified my soul
Between the sheets we slow danced every stroke was on beat
Looking into her lovely eyes I knew she was the special one...
And if I had to pick one word to describe it that word would be magical

I think of her, this devil in a white dress
This love I have for her is so powerful
That I would give my soul to this white devil
No charge at all
Just allow me to feed my hunger
Quench my thirst
One line at a time

She use to love me
Now she loves me not
Emotional pain struck like a bullet
In my heart I have been shot.
Why oh why did my love decide to leave?
I have no answer at this time
Sitting here full of pain
Feeling miserable
Time slowly passing me by.

First Morning
I awoke with aches of pain.
The forecast calls for scattered thunderstorms
In my eyes is pouring rain.
Sweet dreams turned to nightmares
Trapped in the dark
With no light to guide me, life falling apart.
I still love her even though she has moved on
Radio used to play sweet melodies
Now all I hear is sad love songs.
Love hurts,
The pain no doctor can cure
Time seems to be the only medicine
So I shall take a heavy dose
We went from spending all our time together
Now we are not even close.
I awoke this morning with aches of pain....
