My biggest affliction
I want to be that girl so bad
The one in the books
The one with the perfect mom and dad
The one with the perfect looks
The one who struggles a bit
But finds true love
A guy who is the perfect fit
Everything she ever dreamed of
It sucks being a romantic
The unrealistic expectations
Wanting guys with eyes deeper than the atlantic
Wanting dramatic kissing scenes and love declarations
I like seeing the sun go down
I want to hold someone's hand
Eyes in which I could drown
Arms in which I could land

Look at him!
Look at this elephant seal!
I wish I could see one for real
I bet we would become best friends
Imagine me and this elephant seal doing TikTok trends
You'd just see me smiling all day long
Cause we'd be dancing to doja's new song
And I'd fall asleep on his big belly
he'll get a fish and I a peanut butter and jelly
My wedding would be at the beach
So I could be within reach
of my ring bearer, best friend, my silly old elephant seal
With a smile happier than a happy meal
I wish I could see one for real
I bet we would become best friends

Nighttime
Please stay awake for me
I really want to talk
I know you're pretty tired
I know it's already dark
I had a pretty bad day
But your jokes could make it right
If only it were up to me
We wouldn't go to sleep tonight
I don't know why
But I'm feeling kind of sad
I can't fall asleep
Too many voices in my head
I wished we had more time
The day went by so fast
Life slips away
If we could just let this last
So please stay awake for me
We don't have to talk
I just need you here
So...

Doubt
It feels so pathetic
Waiting for your next text
You don't have a clue do you?
Imagine me actually saying
how much you mean to me
How pathetic would that be
It can't be true
Nothing actually shows
that you feel the same way
There's no indication
Just me always overthinking
No double meanings
Just keep on dreaming
All the subtext is in my imagination
Maybe it's not even about you
But about me feeling alone
Of wanting someone to call me special

Rewind
When the curtain closes
And the applause fades
When you pack up your make-up
Then go home with your suitcase
You start tearing up
Because it's done
You won't return to the stage
For who knows how long
You have memories
Maybe even a recording
You can see your smile
But it's not the same thing
It's the high of love
Of actually feeling alive
Of not thinking for once
Finally no need to survive
Just fully giving in
And letting your voice sore
So powerful and free
You want nothing...

Every second
So afraid that life will pass me by
So scared to die unaccomplished
I need to change the world or at least try
Help others and don't be selfish
Rest is overrated
Mindfulness is overrated
Love is overrated
Smiling is overrated
If I don't leave my footprints
I will wash away
While the world continues to spin
Just enough is not okay
Time is precious
Every day is a gift
Every minute a blessing
Every second a treasure
As long as I have thoughts I have moments
moments are options ...

The world spins too fast
I walk too slow
I don't want to forget the past
I don't know where to go
It's cold out here
Am I the only one without a coat?
So chaotic, nothing seems clear
A sea of people and no lifeboat

I'm worth two
They think I don't see it
But believe me I do
I can't mess this up
So I hold on extra tight
I know it's unhealthy
I know it's not right
Tears run down my cheeks
You don't care or you don't see
I ask you to just hold my hand
But you won't even look at me
Just keep walking on
Untill I let go
You will win no matter what
Because I'd be back at zero

If the mirror became a person
They might be your friend
They might be your enemy
It all depends on what you see
Maybe you'd finally change
No, not your reflection
But how you look at it
Maybe you'd learn to love every bit
of light shining in those eyes
of fuel stored in your belly
of years hanging in your skin
Maybe you'd learn to love everything
If the mirror became a person
You'd see what I see
No failure, no loser
Someone brave, beautiful and worthy
They might be your friend
They might be your enemy
It all depends on what you see

Because of those who don't think

How can you just live?
You don't appreciate what you have

You're just living in the moment

The endless cycle
I always go back
Sometimes voluntarily
Sometimes I'm pushed
But I'm never gone for long
It's comfortable
In a sad way
It's cold here
But I can breath
I have all my worlds here
Nicely stored in alphabetical order
Here I can build my clouds
Because there's no wind to drag them away
After a while you start to miss the wind
I don't let it show
I know I shouldn't leave
That has never ended well for me

Never-ending rain
I wish that I could get through to you
Through your thoughts
To show you something I already knew
To show you just how amazing you are
It hurts me to see you in pain
It hurts because I don't understand
Only I see the rainbow in the never-ending rain
All you see are dark clouds above your head
And it keeps on pouring until we both drown
I can't control the weather
But I can't let you down
I've got to keep it together
For the both of us
