It breaks me to leave
But if I stay

In places
Neglected and sore

Dark Candle
We ran away from our mother Galaxy
Thought all we needed was you and me
Our fate was always etched in supernova tragedy
But we didn't want to share our twin energies
A glowing star, your mass exceeded mine greatly
Your itty bitty dwarf who only shined brightly for thee
But the closer we orbited each other, the faster we spun
Burning from the inside out until the final limit won
Brighter than any light, I invited you into me, my sun
Binary was too far, we needed to merge and be one

We waited until he went to work
Seven fifteen
Grabbed any pants, shoes, n shirts
Left some dog turds in the air vents for a sexy scent
Policed her personal room and then off we went
Twenty minutes to pack up what was left of her life
Hoping this abusive fucker didn't sneak in on the sly
If he came by I'd be inclined to point and shoot
But the convoy scooted out in a line till we hit the boot
Now we on the highway not even looking back
Got my sister in the car, safe, can't ask for more than...

Butterfly
What are you doing
In this place
There are no flowers here
No brightness
For your delicate face
Butterfly
They stole
Skinned my protection whole
Selfishly lapped at my hope
And imprisoned my soul

You flew
Through death…
And
Soggy mildew
Spreading light
…A fiery blue
When there was nothing
I found you.
What are you doing
In this place

Whisper your sweets
Right into my ear
The slightest breeze
Lets me know you're here
But I cannot see
You won't allow that
Hiding in the shadows
To claim my habitat
I'd say I love you
But you're not really there
When I try to love someone new
Your whispers turn to blares

It Must Be Nice
I think of how it must be nice
To wake up and be healthy
And we exist so commonly
There's no sympathy
Or understanding
It must be nice knowing
You don't NEED medicine to survive
It must be nice to wake in the morning
Knowing the president's bill won't affect your life
It must be nice not worrying
Of when insurance can say no
To the disease you were born carrying
Four grand a month is just too much dough
It must be nice not contemplating
The burden you'd lay on everyone
