Circling To Swarm
Don’t know where these roads lead
Some closed others off the beaten path
Mile after mile paved in endless greed
Dirty deeds exposed after the bloodbath
So many moving parts in this machine
Places to hide and manipulate from
Having paid to wipe the system clean
Another talking head is playing dumb
Wicked regime turning back the clock
Indentured servants not a working class
Innocent victims reside on the cellblock
While war criminals receive a free pass
Trying to weather this fascist storm
That’s meant to...

Falderal
Peering into the darkness
Beyond the zone of comfort
My eyes out of focus
With new layers of depth
Breeze tickles the skin
Voices mumble softly
In one ear out the other
These thoughts of despair
My lips tracing curses
Under a devious grin
Humble witness sighs
Longing to remember when
Everything felt right
All was good in the world
Not this smoke and mirrors
Wrapped up in falderal

Prelude
Flush wisteria, lavender
ripened upon their vine
Eliot’s hyacinth couple
deep purple, beyond the rain-
pummeled garden gate
A mossy footpath, wet
seeping between toes
of bare feet, droplets plop
extend upward, fall
into Earth's moistened mouth

Seizing Freedom In Broad Daylight
Robber-barons are pick pockets in disguise
Gutting social programs that help those in need
Just to finance this fascist excuse for leadership
Disappearing those folks they labeled scapegoat
People can’t you see we’re the fucking hired help
Being told to shut up and know the pecking order
Crippling healthcare as a means to thin the masses
Defunding public schools to dumb humanity down
Running the best plays from a Dictators playbook
Death by a million cuts will bleed innocence dry

Left Barefoot
Hypnotic suggestion pacifies the blind
Choosing not to see what calls them out
Internet parasites nestle inside the mind
Killing hope by feeding off every doubt
Instead of a trickle there was a ripple
No benefits just hateful views of others
Privilege is power being used to cripple
With blatant lies they bury our brothers
Elitist wisdom is shallow and one-sided

Chaos rises before the sun even sets
Racing against time pedal to the floor
Pump the brakes on these vile threats
Robbing people and taking some more
So over the top his brain’s out to lunch
Under a corporate umbrella of confusion
Made the deal and received a gut punch
This paper tiger is another grand illusion
Distortion cuts through silence with rage
This present day sequel of the Gilded Age

upon reflection...forget genuflection

what's this obsession with that social ladder
...blows my mind
how attractive people seem to find it
but they're all frantically trying to climb it
like it takes them somewhere special
honestly...they're not really even moving
just going through the motions
claiming status by osmosis
dropping names like grenades
hoping to shake things up
like I give a fuck...
I'm not exactly at the bottom of the chain
but I sure can see it clearly from here
it's full of...

Only Through The Maker
Coming to terms with this guilt
Imagine my surprise to find
The copious amounts of blood spilt
For entertainment that rots the mind
Never quite understanding why
It’s always been about the choices
I’m constantly trying not to die
Conflicted by two different voices
Being observed by the digital eye
They see us all, they know us all
As drones paint targets from the sky
They show us all, they control us all
In the midst of this spiritual war
All warnings went unobserved
I witnessed them open an old scar ...

The boys push the blind man down the escalator
The boys steal the money out of the guitar player's hat
The boys tease the crippled man

Sea to Shining Sea
Only folks over 60 know,
that the United States of America
was once a place...
where the rich paid their fair share.
I barely remember
but let me tell you what it was like...
New schools got built.
The poverty rate was reduced.
New highways were constructed.
And we were the technical marvel of the world...
that sent a dozen dudes to the moon...
BEFORE...Ronald Reagan started bitching
about the government.
that the United States of America
was once a place...
where the rich paid their fair share.
