POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poetry about life, society and the natural world
reframed
do not regret
or mourn a
broken heart
it's life's way of
reminding you
that you actually
gave a shit about
someone or something
or mourn a
broken heart
it's life's way of
reminding you
that you actually
gave a shit about
someone or something

Longing
11 - May, 2022
For her summer was arriving soon
For me, mid-April, it’s almost here
But where I live the heat is brutal
And it’s relentless
Year after year after year
Yes, I too get a sense of longing
For cool Autumn days and abundant Springs
Truth be told they remind me of my youth
When the future seemed like an eternity away
And now we’re here
All the could haves and should haves
Are aboard tiny floating lanterns
Carried off by the tide and waves
Into a sea of memory…and longing

Woolgathering Logic?
13/30
Woolgathering Logic?
I nearly had a pretty decent spill
lost it after mindless viewing
recent latest news
Lost it but the gist of it
still exists maybe
sticky maple syrup
though I’m unable
to capture, recapture
I never liked this feeling of nothing
of something stuck to me
like Fugitive Glue
only a “ Post-it “ note
away from fruition
so many pearls lost like
today due to ---- old age?
Evidently, 5 minute speed chess
Is not the only indicator
I should be...

Genesis
I welcome them
by opening a gate,
unlock doors after
long stretch of day
as large pots stir
they pick up the
ladle, wondering,
asking what it is,
they chow down
as steam covers
their faces, their
mouths speak
in a common
language we
all know.
Later, I rinse suds
off steel as a doll
kisses the back
of my head,
America and Japan
wrap their arms
around my
tiny island
as Genesis...

Chinatown Blues
Chinatown Blues
Teatime in Chinatown
Where the old men play Mahjong
While reciting Lao Tzu over ramen noodles
Whose Tao is a Macau séance
For spirits of ancestors
Like the memory of an opium den
In a dream for a wizened apothecary
Bearded in ashen white
Who sells the dust of dragon bones
As a cure for the immigrant blues
Where Mandarin women chirp
Like songbirds in a bamboo forest
Lost in the mists of Sichuan
But having crossed the Pacific ring of fire
With volcanic ash of tears

A Soft Whisper To The Wind
In my pilgrimage as caged minds unfurl
Upright in peace crucified of its lashing words
My ancestral rite of passage I crossed over to gain wisdom found not
of this time
Spoken to the earth of whispered sacred benedictions of the sublime
Hearts dancing in rejoice to have the sanction of Creole dialect
wisdom of the wise
To give unto ancient sovereign, my King, this woman’s worth entwined
of universal beliefs from sundown to sunrise
Preordained upon...

The Ribbons and Her Darkness
Tranquility arrives around sunset
As a journey of some seventeen thousand days winds down
Reflection at this point is so poignant
That messages written in those stars above become clearer
Must be the nostalgia of it all
Time becomes precious and valued with each passing minute
Verses feel more empowered
When poets instinctively begin to compose their magnum opus

"spirituality "
I've been raised to go to "church" the entirety of my childhood life; in hindsight- one would say it's all misguided rituals and forced fed cultlike vibes....
from the moment the mind develops enough to question why- everything under the sun will be criticized....
I'm no one's teacher- I'm not trying to be anything close.... I wake up throughout the days, afternoons, and nights thinking about how shallow all this fluff and puff stuff is they've barbwired into the human mind....
every living...

Stop the negativity
Through this cycle of life there will be some ENTITY'S hell bent, on destroying our lives and will be unofficially trying, desperately to destroy another person's life in real life times. For sure it's easy to recognize those who walk around, with nothing but negativity, pushing there own hidden agenda pushing out nothing, but pure propaganda and lies. Still trying to install a formula to poison, your mind thoughts and insight and beliefs, that they are here for you but yet It was nothing but more lies. 🤨 Yet there are those who continue to live on the plantation, still believing the...

Human Touch
a mind could resemble running water without an end-like involuntary dialog running down a script; the wind could resemble foreign whispers- hitting against the human skin;
asmr is.... intriguing; but why are there multiple light switches in a building-let a alone a room- hence a whole "human nervous system"?; a response signal to words/a voice- is equivalent to a single flickering light switch....

underneath it all....
what "possess" one to want what is seemingly forever out of reach?- are we as human beings but a collective of olive branches rested underneath an olive tree?
is appetite but a curse to most yet a "gift" to those who find the means to feed-temporarily? so it seems- which leads to reoccuring echos within hallways of the mind- full of horrid screams- so to speak; what painting of horror, drama, comedy- with an unseen-unknown "director" not yelling,"action".... surreal indeed....

storylines
generations of the future- are the reboot of the previous past shoot; what is "life"?- according to the naked eye- it's a loop; perhaps all of this is a simulation- a simulation, that one(whomever) more or less awakens in more or less terror and or fascination- awareness yet anxiety of one's and others' animation-because "you" could say or do what ever you want to.... but
it's a loop- a loop that ends later or soon; what we call a bar now used to be a saloon; but a loop is a loop all the same; how should one truly feel in this simulated game?...
