New to the site, not new to poetry
Hey everyone!
I'm brand new to this site, and have been looking for new avenues to find and publish poetry. I'm excitedly awaiting the release of my newest collection of poems - Venom - due in July, and it's really helped reinvigorate my love for the art form.
I look forward to reading new work and engaging with everyone on this site!

Source
love isn’t source however powerful It be
time isn’t source no matter what it sets free seed is sewn in a fertile damp moist hole
words planted like songs in ears
the ground spreads no fears
stream flows hard and gush
source plunged deep mighty thrust
the valley is lit with warmth’s brilliant rays
as source goes deep into its clay
colors emerge spouting screaming sounds mountains watch looking down
powerful aromas trembling earth
source explodes amazing girth
ground is open the stars burst
source quenches it’s thirst
rhythm flow nature takes its course
source goes deep no remorse

Knife Crime
I was watching a programme on the knife crimes and its played on my mind ..
I had to write this down :
KNIFE 🔪 CRIME
The dark spirit, it feasts and it thrives.
Spreading fear among families,
These kids , these knives 🔪
Oh what a waste of beautiful young lives.
On the street and in the park,
In the light of day, under the cover of dark.
The blade , gangs .. it’s becoming an obsession.
The violence - the hatred - manifesting into anger and aggression.
Is it too late ? Is there something that can be done ?
The next tragic victim .... It could be your daughter , or it could be your son.
This youth culture that we see today, well .. it has to learn to evolve in a much more positive way.
Society must concentrate its efforts on putting these critical issues right.
Only then will we be rid of the darkness, only then we will embrace the light.
A candle 🕯 burns for the the families that have felt the anguish and have felt the pain.
Sadly.. On the news and in the papers it keeps happening again and again 😕
Something has to change,
Somethings gotta give.
Embrace the peace ☮️ people...
Let live , let live
