I think it's a great idea.
I unfortunately would have to decline such an invitation.
While I do help those who ask and sometimes offer private critique to friends, my capacity to do so has diminished in recent months and I have all I can do to do all I do.
I have trouble just keeping my head together to write an occasional poem that makes any sense.

who are the old and who are the young poets? Do you mean young/old of age?

Yes, like they say our older poets mentor our young ones. Surely there are well experienced poets who are younger.
NOTE: I meant old in a NON-offensive way.

I think you are confusing age with talent. Jack would wind up as a pupil and not a mentor. Aglitch would wind up a pupil and not a mentor. Something wrong with this picture?

Some older people know nothing about writing.

So if you want a mentor, say so. If you want to mentor one of the poets that want a mentor PM them and go from there.

I wouldn't mind mentoring. But I also wouldn't mind being mentored, I still have stuff to learn.

I would have said PM the mentor you want but I don't want to spam poets with a million PMs saying "Will you mentor me?"
