I regret being so afraid of disappointment, being abandoned, being betrayed and being hurt that I created a place that I escaped to. But that escape became consumed by all that fear and became twisted and perverted into a prison of self proliferating darkness. So much so that it was all I could see...it was all I could experience and so much of the joy that is to be found in life has passed me by as a result.

When I was a kid, I was put into special measures at school because my parents are both severely dyslexic. However, it didn’t seem to affect me at all. I loved writing. I won a creative writing trophy when I was about 9 and always wanted to be a writer in some form.
A book (and another in the works), a spoken word feature at a festival, running writing workshops for women, a foray with BBC radio, 2 online mags, and an upcoming prestigious magazine feature, I’m not doing so bad. Quite proud of myself really. Still a long way to go.
