didn't you use to live next door to Alice, Grace asked
Ajay looked at her and frowned
She moved away I don't know to where he answered
it was a long time ago, I no longer care

maybe you'll meet another Alice
when we reach the end of this journey,
Grace said
one that can paint the roses red

we've been sailing for a while
look, there's an island
let's dock there for a while
Grace said

Ajay nodded and steered towards the island
before long they could see
the white sandy beach
standing there surrounded
by pearly shells were Mr.Roarke
and Tattoo
they waved to the duo
calling out
" Welcome to Fantasy Island"

Roarke and Tattoo were delighted,
seeing ajay and Grace on the beach,
and at once came running down to them,
to give a pink rose to each.
With their white suits shining so brightly
beneath the tropical sun,
they welcomed ajay and Grace with a smile,
said how glad they were they had come.
Then Roarke and Tattoo asked Gracie,
on her Island of Fantasy,
to tell them exactly what she would like
her Fantasy Dream to be.

I wish I have a library
with all the books in the world
so I could stay in and travel
through their pages
said Grace

Roarke laughed and Tattoo giggled
they sounded rather weird
they didn't at all looked friendly

Ajay was sitting on a hammock
having a drink from a pineapple
with an umbrella
I think we ought to leave, he said

'Let's go now, Grace,' said ajay,
'I don't like the look of that twosome.
In fact, if I'm being perfectly frank,
I'd say they really are gruesome.'

So ajay and Grace ran quickly
back to their boat on the sand,
and in no time at all they were sailing away
from that strange and peculiar land.

Then Grace began to feel sleepy
and wanted to lay down her head,
so ajay gathered some blankets together
and made her a nice comfy bed.

'There you go, Grace,' said ajay.
'Snuggle down and close your eyes,
and perhaps in the morning when you awake
I'll give you a nice surprise.'

So Grace snuggled down in the blankets
and soon she was fast asleep,
as ajay sailed their little sailboat
all night on the ocean deep.

When the sun came up in the morning,
the little boat put into land,
and Gracie awoke with a start and a jump
as the ship bumped onto the sand.

'Where on earth are we now, ajay?'
asked Gracie with some alarm
'Don't worry Gracie,' ajay he said,
'I've brought you home safe from harm.

I know you weren't really enjoying
sailing around with me,
but now you can get back to reading
all of the books in your library.'

'Hooray! I'm back!' cried Gracie,
'I can now do what I like the most:
reading my books in a nice comfy chair
and eating some hot buttered toast.'

Back into the boat climbed ajay
and aimed it straight at the sun,
thinking of all the amazing adventures
that surely now were to come,

but alas he failed to notice
that sinister dorsal fin,
when far away in the ocean next morn
he decided to go for a swim.

Well, in no time at all the ocean
had turned a bright shade of red,
and ajay could write no more poem at all,
for poor old ajay was dead.

Grace went home to her house by the seashore
where her home awaited in its tropical splendour
she watched the sunset that day
and saw the magenta coloured sea
beauty of nature abounds
birds chirping and waves breaking
on the shore
all peace and contentment

here the shadows creep
scrabbling between the walls
of the haunted house
it habours a secret buried deep

the owls upon the eaves sojourn
hoot their songs in eerie refrain
if you chance to pass by
you will hear a baby's ghostly cry

Then into this poem
the Dormouse🐭 appeared,
curled up into a ball,
and I think the Dormouse🐭
quite simply is
the sweetest creature of all ♥️

Lizzy Lizard dances and sway
in  her little garden
near the round cactus bay
her green tutu shimmers
as she sways and pirouettes

Lizzy Lizard feels dizzy
her heart is drumming
she can hear it's boom
so she rests listening
to it fade away

greetings from the hills
where our tribe once thrived
where wild boars were hunted
and the shaman's song ululated
and the warriors were strong
there our sacred mountain stand
the portal to the other side
there our spirits rest

dreams of glory
of picking stars off bright skies
dancing under the moondlight
now stuck on mossy grounds

promises of forever whispered
declaration of ever after
now mere memories replayed

linger on Lily
please stay a little longer
life is short and sweet
linger on Lily
It will get better
and you'll enjoy it
until it's really necessary
to leave
