Hullo

It's hard to diagnose a person until after an event. you see neighbours of some killers on the news "absolutely astonished their well mannered, well dressed neighbour" caused carnage somewhere

thinking about it, certainly while in my teens I've mixed with people who"ve turned out to be psycotic or who were at the time and I didn't notice/ care

any recent experiences were both unsettling and demanding. there was danger. but there were other variables to consider. hard to say psychopath definitively though

I don't believe I have come across many. A few may come close for their cunning rat-baggery but the ones you're asking about would be what I'd be calling cold blooded hell-bent individuals with a motive however right or wrong their goal is. Use of knowledge with intelligence/smarts as  well a guille does help them succeed to a great extent I believe from coming across TV dramas etc as well as real world stories in the media.

Echo Lepp about diagnosis !

short answer is no- I haven't from my recent memory!

One thing is for certain -

- few people here know how to spell the word psychopath.

those recent experiences seem interesting.

I don't think i've ever met a psychopath. I've heard most psychopaths aren't actually murderers. XD

some one that read more of his works and compared the viewpoints once said that Machiavelli's "The Prince" was intended as satire, not a users manual,...

sad thing is that every one reads it straight

I have not read that actually, so I'm not sure what you mean.

Machiavelli's "The Prince" is commonly presented as the guidebook for how to be a cutthroat business man or political leader

this is what most refer to as "Machiavellian"

contrariwise,
http://factmyth.com/factoids/machiavellis-the-prince-can-be-read-as-satire/

to "read something straight" is to take the words at face value, clearly missing the nuance, or, pretending to miss the nuance for comedic effect...
q.v.
Straight Face
Straight Man (Dean Martin as straight man to Jerry Lewis Slapstick physical Comedy)

my, how certain words have changed...

Pardon the confusion, I'm aware of the origin and definition of the term, I'm just not sure how it being intended as satire is related to my original statement.
