Here's some inspiration from last competition:

dejure said:your silent smile...

I want to
wake up everyday
laying next to you
I want to
be the first thing you see
and the reason for your morning smile
watching you wake up next to me

I say good morning beautiful
with my morning breathe
you wrinkle your nose
with a silent smile

you take my hand,
roll over and pull me in
I kiss your neck and
hold you tight

and you say
good morning baby
I silently smile

I will

(a sonnet)

An old man stands again at angel's shore,
Ten thousand days and miles in between.
An anxious sea drowns sun, just as before,
And she returns, beguiling as first seen.

Her pure expression burns into his soul,
Confused with decades worth of discontent.
A grace filled vision from this haunting toll,
And finally shares her name, Exuberant.

His Dryad dances down the search-lit night,
Forever wearing that bewitching gaze.
At end of day, he's come to set things right,
And with her loosed, an ancient debt repays.

Yet freed, he prays this angel not depart,
For still he fears that with her goes his heart.

wallyroo92 said:The Poet and His Muse

He looked at the sky with weary eyes,
And spoke to the constellations once again,
“Return her to me” he said with a defiant heart,
In a whisper which time and space transcends.

His voice carried through the galaxies,
And bewildered Gemini asked “is he talking to us?”
Looking for the one that was claiming her soul,
And then noticed a disheartened Taurus.
“She was almost given to me” the bull said,
“For it seemed her time to join us here,”
“But he’s claiming her return” the twins declared,
“And it seems that the fates are quite clear.”

And the poet offered his life instead,
As it seemed the he could not bear,
The pain that pursued his aching soul,
To lose his muse would be too much despair.

And the Universe returned her to him,
Distressed and wounded and scarred,
For the forbidden ascension left empty,
A light missing among the stars,
And that’s alright with him,
As he cradles her in his arms.

Perfume

The morning speaks in ocean words,
In scents of blue lupines and waves,
As if you found me in the night,
And in my bed you sought your rest.

To find you nestled, waking there,
And taste the universe’s birth.

AA

It's easy to get drunk off
Those first kisses

Then came more
Penetrations of the skin

Run deep

Asphyxiation is intolerable
Forcing clothes to the floor
Only to be reclaimed in the shameful aftermath

What had it been
Her laughter
The way her hand fit in mine
Like we'd known each other an eternity
And not merely a day

This had to be

Real

This time

Surely

Dinners out
Become dinners in

Flowers for no reason
were supplanted by bills that had every reason to sober the drunk

AA
is real

Always Arguing

Why is your ex calling

I'm just going out with friends

Can't you do this one fuckn thing
this one fuckn time

You need to grow up and stop letting your mother run your life

Interchangeable lines

And lies

When you're both perfectly sober

Who are you?

I could have said I am cancer
the worse influence you've ever had
a thing that eats up every living cell
a thing that makes you lose your head

I could have said I am darkness
infected with utter contempt
with nothing around but emptiness
something you’ll bitterly resent

I could have said I am nothing
a ridiculous infatuation of your fantasy
a floating ship that’s about to sink
captured by a moment of sheer ecstasy

I could have said I am taken
by an illusion of reality shattered
as I come closer to this godforsaken
place you call your home hazard

I could have said anything hollow
to push you from my side
Instead I just said I don’t know
I’m lost I’m terrified

I’m lost in the depth of your eyes
yielding insight to your soul
to that flickering flame that never dies
not to mention makes me whole

I’m lost in the abyss of your thoughts
among memories I’m drifting down
that inexhaustible river of words
embraced by your notion of love

I’m lost in the eternity of your dreams
I've been lingering on in your world
of deepest and darkest needs
reaching out for your hand to hold

I’m lost in the kindness of your heart
securely concealed behind bars
stripped naked for your works of art
craving to thump beneath the stars

I’m terrified by the very idea
that I wouldn't want to be found
that your mysterious aura
would feel safe and sound

labyrinths ~ abstract love letters unsent {vii}

{iii} prawda:
you crowned me the carpet burned tsarina of a pile of rubble, & by right, i
exhumed your bones
from zamarstynów;
like you'd stolen mine from a comfortable tomb in frankívs’kyj.
we dreamt cold, with a crumbling wall at our backs,
a night without demons in the dark.
i've never slept comfortably since.

{ii} rowan trees:
there was no music, never any music,
so we danced to the hum in your chest;
to a song older than our hurt.

{i}
we prayed to the pastel walls of
any god who would hear us.
then we grew up
& apart.

ROSE

A poison burns in broken churns
to put a Rose in spoken terms
with little bits of worthless wit
I fiddle with the words that fit
and so it phases me to sunder
certain phrases full of wonder
leaving only fragrant petals
floating as the warm wind settles
down upon the golden beach
now just within my reach
And so I simply take her hand
no words, we simply understand
I lead the way across the sand
towards the rocks beneath the shade
to watch the growing sunset fade
behind the glistening green horizon
which I can barely keep my eyes on
not with Rose right next to me
a simple kiss is bliss, is ecstasy
eternity, she's all I see
each minor moment of each minute
seems to me so infinite
as I'm living here within it
as for tomorrow no one knows
all time is only now
right here with Rose

At the Root of Me

I know I can be a little senseless, but there’s one thing that’s on my mind…

Darling, I crave you like my lungs need air, with a hunger too much to bear,
That quenching my thirst simply will lead to more and more constant longing,
That this yearning goes beyond both the physical and the spiritual and maybe
You’re right, I’m obsessed…

But my heart knows full well the distinction between love and fascination,
And what we found in our lives in the spec of all time is something special,
That the sole purpose in my life is to live this happiness satisfying you,
But it also consumes me…

So I linger in the realms between dreams and fantasies beyond this world,
More abysmal than all the seas or past the stars in all the galaxies
Even more profound than what the human mind can conceive,
But I believe…

You’re at the root of me… in the hub…the core… in the crux of it all,
So deep and embedded in my heart and soul,
That words need not be exchanged when the is emotion felt and shared
But with a simple smile and glare…

And that a modest ily makes everything okay, even on the roughest day,
It reconnects us through the hustle and the bustle of our daily lives,
It reminds us of early love lost and found, no matter how much time passes by,
It takes us to that special place…

To where two star crossed lovers met and discovered that feeling at a young age,
And not understanding how or why or when the fates would decide their paths,
Until the time was right, it would be unique… exceptional…sensual…epic… epochal,
Maybe even immortal…

And if future generations or civilizations uncover and read our story,
This love will again transcend when they tell our tale, this allegory
They will wonder about the life we shared brought not by chance,
Or happenstance

But by destiny,
By what the universe placed in our hands,
And deeply embedded in my heart and soul,
At the root of me,
In the hub,
The Core
In the crux of it all.

Soirees With Seduction - First Post.. Just wanted to Throw something together to add to the site :)

He wore his charisma like a tailored suit,
hemmed and fitted
to project a certain air of generalized cohesiveness
regardless of the circles in which he found himself entrenched within.

My fuzzy foggy memory recounts our initial interactions,
recollected and revisited
sober retractions and revisions,
to a once romanticized collision
that was our foxtrot
in step despite an intoxication laced blurry haze
in we which we screamed silent introductions.

The facade he devised and employed was a distraction,
a beguiling charm
disguising his fractured form
serving to foreshadow
how I would suit for him a  future function,
once we were entangled
my humanity then fated for demolition and inevitable destruction.

His ethos bordered on the line of arrogance and superiority
only subtly present
 to those previously exposed
to the infection that was his true personified animalistic predilections.

Like a disease, he spread,
managing to seep into conversations
like an odorless toxin,
deadly when inhaled
but rarely noticed within the company he kept.

It was akin to one’s experience peering through a fractured piece of glass,
remembering the man I initially met,
watching him manipulate with ease
those unacquainted with all that was his disease.

By The Campfire

The Autumn moon illuminates the marine-blue sky above
As the stars light the night we confessed our love.
With my hand in yours and yours in mine
We sit by the campfire toasting to wine
As you draw closer to me
Protecting me from the chills that has come to be
Like a warm blanket, your sweet embrace comforts me.
Your invite to lean into your arms sets me free
As I listen to the comforting sound of your heart's beat

With my head on your chest, we sit by the light of the fire
I look at you and see your eyes heavy and tired
As we both watch glimmering embers dancing across blue flames
While you hold in your arms your sweet Dame
Embraced in your arms, cuddled upon your chest
Your lips draw closer to mine at best
And  we begin to kiss the night away
The moment has no need for words to say.
The sweet residue of fire-roasted marshmallows I could taste
With my tongue encircling yours without haste

Your hand caresses my body and then my breast
As your passion stands the gentlemen's test
Though aroused by the fondles of your hand's touch
I feel your love self-restrained by much
And I think to myself, "It won't be long now
When he will throw in the gentlemen's towel
And ravish my body and take me into the night
And leave me breathless and without sight
With eyes rolled back
As the Autumn moon goes black
And I completely surrender to his lead
As both our passionate souls are freed."

A Home in Your Heart

"Every wise woman
buildeth her house"

Sometimes circumstance
prevents expansion of self;
Freedom to perfect
our natural gifts:

A beautiful nude
accessorizing drawing paper;
the Poetic pen coated with Verse

So I build a Home in Your Heart
where You're Loved
supported for who You are;
encouraged to become
whatever You want

Where all the petals
of every Daisey plucked
from Our Sun-Dusted Garden

will only ever say,

'She Loves Me'

Because 'Not'
is nonexistent

In this House

The Fountain Of Your Youth

The engine growls
as down the road
I drive
turquoise is the colour
that shrouds
a street light night .

You feel much , more
than just a lover
through to the core
it is pure
content uncovered
inside I'm sore
from the lure
of all that's coming
can I be the cure
make me yours
far past an always.
.

Butterfles
surround an
almost bloom
this is how I found
the vibe around
the room
you're something
I found
not a second too soon
your guitar sounds
beautiful
just like you do .
you turn up
the down
make flat round
give hope that truth
when you enter the room
out of tune
comes into view .

When I layed down
in the twilight
with you
all moments of doubt
disappeared
down old fool chutes
the closer I held you
the more I felt
your truth
I plugged myself
into
the fountain of your
youth .

Where Love's Famous

If genies so existed
I'd ask for you
on my wish list
you just can't gauge
heaven sent
for this being you
there is no measurement
you captain the crew
that fly my merriment
if my dreams came true
we'd walk through life
as meant .

Let us hold hands
and spin back
through all ages
kick up some sand
re-write some history
pages
float through Saturns
bands
eyes open
and courageous
then we'll gently land
on shores where our
love's famous .
