Lost

Childlike demeanour
Alittle coffee with my creamer
I miss writing on the windows
But they all turned into mirrors
Your voice was clear
"I don't want you, we are over!"
It's still ringing in my ears
"Shit I fucked up, let's start over"
Too bad I lost what kept her near
I must have left it
At the bus stop
On our last date to the fair
That lucky boy that found it
Better never hurt you dear
I write this all the fucking time
It's too bad you cannot hear
When I scream into my pillow
I'd rather whisper in your ear
That I love you
I type I hate you
I hope you know that isn't true
Because if I ever lost you
I'd be lost too

half-life

this relationship
with its half-life
she needs
and I am there
it's faltering
I'm a giver by nature
I give until I can't

words uttered
at the end
of a conversation
an afterthought
"how are you?"
when I mentally shrug
take a chance
and respond
it usually shifts
quickly back
to her

when asked she acknowledged
she never noticed
when I pulled away
no talk of me
of my feelings
who I was
locked away
can't she see?
this isn't how
it's supposed to be

it hurts

I need time to think
decide what I can handle
where I want to go from here
is there a future
when only one of us is there
can I survive the half-life
or do I let it go
as dead

I like the idea of 'half life' - or 'the half-life off habit' as I sometimes think of it.

Aurora

Aurora,
I know you play games.
I'm aware of your style,
but I've come calling again.

As we touch,
your caress sparks my flame.
The soft allure ,
I'm helpless as a paper crane.

My lovely,
as colourful as an icy sprinkle.
Soft like jelly on the inside;
your shell as hard as a periwinkle.

As the sun kisses the early bird,
I await your unspoken word.
I hear only lovely sounds
as your walls fall down.

Your sweet solace,
fills my empty plate.
In sorrow,
we are no longer irate.

My darling,
such a bittersweet vice.
To hold your companionship,
I must pay the price.
