Write a poem in a dialect other than your own
Example of a dialect poem: (because I can't post URLs yet, Google "No Lickle Twang" and click the first link. For a reading of that poem, put "Sankofa 2012: No Lickle Twang" into YouTube)

Respectfully, there's already an endless challenge in the Forum about posting poems in other languages.
There's no objection if a new member wants to host a competition, as long as it's about a subject that's judgeable. And please reconsider the duration of this challenge: two weeks would be plenty long, not two months.

Respectfully, the competition description states another dialect, not another language. The example I offered was in a dialect of English, not another language in and of itself. And I happen to think myself capable of judging this subject in the context of a competition re: poetic quality, and also that two months is fine as a duration.

There's a tendency around here for new members that start competitions, to not follow through with them, leaving them to fall on our abandoned list for voting, hence Jade's query and why we like to ask.

Just as you were clearly worried about this competition falling by the wayside, so I wasn't sure of your motives and felt that you were making unfair, assumptive value judgements about me.
To further clarify the aim of this contest, one could, for instance, write a poem in a Northern English or Southern American dialect.

That's just exactly what he'd do
When it'd come time to kissin' me.

And that's the way it was with us.
It wasn't clear just who knew what,
But ev'er cousin and their blood
Was bound to cross the line just once.
Well-meaning, interfering folk
Was always pullin' us aside,
"No right to carry on that way
And get the short end o' the stick!"
"Now hold your horses, shug', come 'ere."
He rode me hard 'n finished wet.
"You playin' possum?", "Reckon so."
We slept like dead pigs in the sun.
This is a U.S. deep southern dialect, I'm a native west coast Californian.
