The Doors
I'll tell you this:
there's not much
in the bottom of an empty glass
except memories of past substances
and maybe a tear from the face
that wishes it back
to half-full
hence the very circumstance
of semblance personified
do you know
the world has green eyes
and they are it's only gravity
or that brevity can open a flower
to have it's pollen brushed
for the cold rush
of grief
mixed with pleasures
have you drowned
in the true treasures of the mind
and came to life
behind a blindfold of sheer satin
then died again
for the fun of it all
have you lived, my friend
or are you chasing four horsemen
down a highway
because they passed you by
the last time
you had your thumb out
for the ride

Great entry Craic ... Loved that last stanza! Crim - truly a great comp! There are some real gems here, and I'm humbled you thought my song attempt worthy of a mention. I truly enjoyed the challenge and the chance to pay tribute to one of the greats.
