All Your Sorrow

Music and Art,
& everything beautiful
fell from your lips like wine,
I knew in flash as I hung up my hat,
that I would make you mine

The smoke in the room
made it feel like a tomb,
as we waltzed across the floor
I felt in my heart a happiness
I'd never felt before

All your sorrow,
all your sorrow,
all your sorrow,
it follows me

Well time it passed
and we didn't last
our love and our faith
well they died

What hurt me the most
as I make this toast,
was how deeply you
lied

In an hour I leave for Frankfurt,
my home across the sea,
I take with me a thousand scars
from love from you
to me, with love from you to me

All your sorrow,
all your sorrow,
all your sorrow,
it follows me

At First Sight

I've been in love before, but nothing as quite like this.
The picture that they gave me, I kept it close those remaining months.
Waiting for the day that we'd finally meet each other, for the first time, face-to-face.
He was a few days late but well worth the wait.
I was tired by time it was over.
Tears streaming down my face.
There was pain and heartache.
But finally he came. . .

And he was so beautiful.
It was love at first sight.
I've been in love before but not quite like this.
This love changed me, stirred something inside of me that I've never felt.
My broken heart mended and swelled with a brand new kind of love.
As I held him in my arms for the first time.

My son, my baby.
I fell in love with him the day he was born into this world.
And I realized that every mistake and heartbreak led me up to right now.
This moment, this place.
And this small creature laying against my chest.
Faded pink skin and blonde tuffs of hair.
And when he looks at me, his eyes are so sweet.
So big and wondering as he looks up at me.
And I know that this is where I am meant to be.

Here with him, the final touch to my long awaited for family.
Through all of the darkness, he is my light.

The day my son was born was truely love at first sight.

A lifetime of talking
Who is that redhead coming down the stair?
This is the first time I have been here
The nurses have asked us to come to their dance
I am pleased what I see at my first glance.

The redhead in question has a floral dress
And as broad a smile as any could posess
She readily accepts my invite to waltz
From this closer view I could see no faults

We spent the evening dancing and talking
Then back to her hostel we were walking
We arranged to meet to become more acquainted
We talked ceaselessly whenever we dated

All the above happened fifty six years ago
She's still my love as older we grow
We are lucky in love, our family is close
We're never without friendly discourse

Never Ever After.

Once upon a time, happily ever after,
Secretly we all hope for our fairy tale disaster.
A love so intense it consumes our very soul,
And with out it we not quite whole.

With dark black hair cut to style,
A black leather jacket That's seen it fair mile.
Piercing blue eyes intense and wide,
A smile with the brightest teeth great lips can't hide.

She knew his eyes followed my every move,
And she made him a show like something to prove.
She watched him as he watched me,
She knew she was his new assignment and she made him study.

Like a wirlwind adventure he took her breathe away,
She asked for forever and he promised to stay.
Their kisses were full of burning heat,
Desire that made her heart worthy of it's beat.

Suddenly she was a princess she never knew she wanted to be,
And her very handsome prince was he.
It seemed like their faiytale was never to end,
She knows better now then to hope and pretend.

Like every good story there was a finish,
With despair and regret and deminish.
The princess was fated to never be a queen,
Her king and her were fated not to be.

Love at first sight put wind in her wings,
So together they may fly to better things.
Love at first sight gave her heartache and pain,
But given the choice she'd do it all over again.

Her I Do trembling unsure on her lips

      star, burning slowly

one night can last a lifetime.
an iron memory, forged of passion.

she may have arrived like a star
descending, burning slowly

  in that low cut dress,
the entrancing fullness of her breasts.
a man could put his lips there
on that trembling flesh,
and never want to remove them
for something as banal as eating…

the sheen of her long raven hair,
glistened like diamond chips
imbedded in coal dust,
under a candled chandelier.

her face: Irish-cream skin, dew-dropped.
dark eyes, that spoke a gypsy’s promise.
lips that would never kiss mine.

in my dream, we dance slowly.
somewhere far away, the mournful
sound of ‘Mr. Lonely’
…the irony of it chokes me…

love is a bug that bites like a tiger,
leaves a blissful wound,
a wildfire fever.

I will die with that face in my head,
that song in my ear…

When first i saw your face
I had already fallen in love online
With your mind and your soul
Would that i had been paying attention to your face
As i saw you accross the top of my car

Online when you first approached me
I thought the one had found me
I wonder what crimes i'd committed
By the time i found that you weren't nineteen
Was i fooled when you agreed with the minimum

Was i truly surprised
Four months later when i found your age
These years later i take the shame
I wonder why your mother did not call the lightnings
When first she saw me or When i was asleep on the couch

after you left me that time I died inside,
it took me years to regain my heart or even my art
having married, your return was awkward for me
but you made me come alive again
you let me hold my soul for a short time..

Seven years after first we met, your mother asked me
If you living in my house damaged my first marriage
I hedged when I told her the truth 'no'
What i didnt say is that it was already dead
When first i tried to add you to save my sanity
