Poetry Contest Description
I do believe in killing the messenger. You know Why? It sends a Message.- Ian Somerhalder
Write a story/poem that has a twist in it dealing with the quote provided above.

Cheated by Life
The sweet faced girl
approached her sister,
"I come to you with a message:
I know you fuck and love him.
I know he does the same.
I'd just assume kill you
and my cheating husband."
Before she pulls the trigger
pressed to her lips,
She whispers through her tears,
"Instead, I'll kill the messenger.
You know why? It sends a Message.

I Shot the Procrastinator
There was no message
though I waited
inhaled and exhaled with patience
graceful in spite of my raging questions
pacing the floor
nose pressed to the window
checking the phone
no text or missed call
no-one approaching either door
no email
cool lost and boots on
door bound and hell bent
I left to get it straight myself
and I could say I killed the messenger
but he said it still wasn't sent
so I'll say I shot the procrastinator instead

in bullshit from the lips of my
enemy, and with it came
concerns; questioning
the strength of our
friendship
Pondering why you didn’t squash the
convo before it formed wings
abandoning untruths at the
feet of its malicious creator
sparing my ears the
appalling lies
Now I’m left wondering why my enemy
was so comfortable and content,
so relaxed and familiar with
sharing gossip about me,

stands and crosses to me
delivering a message
I know its not good news
I know should stand up and walk the other way
But he draws me in with his eyes
He whispers in my ear that I have a week
I know I was late
I knew I was going to die
He touches my face with a knife
Drags the tip down my cheek
Cutting it open
I reach down and pull out my gun
I have my finger on the trigger
I look at him, and then around

He falls
Blood spilling everywhere
I put the gun away
I bend down and write a message with his blood
"I will never be caught, I will never stop. Stop sending your messengers to me, you know they are just going to die"
