Cursed the train that carried her away  

just a split second
that's all it needs, a morsel of time
for that mutual recognition  
a sacred connection
once in a blue sun kinda thing

she'd giggled
because she'd left her lips
on the page that blew out of my arms
and kissed her
bright red and rounded
like a royal seal on some cosmic contract
binding us both to its will

when I looked up she'd gone
and the dead weight that dropped onto my gut
said I'd lost her forever  

fate however, had built a time for us
and those lips of hers
had found the place
and the wind conspired with them both
to bring us back together  

because the wind blew, then it threw me into tizzy
upended me, suspended me, then ran me through the city
like some dizzy dance of Chaplin's
to where I was supposed to be
   
the train to everywhere

these airplanes are my heartstrings
leading me to her
and she remains the least appalled by them
And brought to me
like we were more than meant to be
eradicating my "important" things

A Thousand Paper Cranes


Love incarnated in glowing embers
smoldering desire to be reborn
upon her amorous lips
stamped against my postcard soul
regardless of time or circumstance
till my love has found the rightful home
a path journeyed with paper dreams
cosmic aligns unfolded in cranes.


The wind caressed sensing urgency
untangling my love's fragile seams
'Are you a dream?'
hearing un-whispered sighs
his smile resides in my heart
uncovering veils of shoji screens
while I stroll through emptiness
swept in the quiet plea of rustled leaves.


A thousand spells written in symbols
roused from dapple-grey alleyways
swept into a whirlwind of wishes
like a swarm of arrows
hurtling me back along cupids string
oblivious to the forces unleashed
that my love had struck me, straight
through the heart with an anonymous kiss.


The pearl he offers uncovers the tales
enchantments of a thousand cranes
dancing with hopes of illuminant light
touching the essence of painted skies
cresting the horizon of impossibilities
we retreat in embrace infusing fate
the memories flow in an hourglass
beauty of love captured in a breath.

I would like to thank the academy of science, arts and academic achievement community of Du for putting up with our romantic shaninigans at times borderlining saccharine sweet but most often than not we would like to think that we have been an inspiration to all the lover's out there to what to do and not to do.  

I would like to thank god and all the saintly angels and the non saintly ones too, my future publisher and my many stalkers, my pervert apartment manager and all my friends and collegues who do not know that I write. My wonderful family who feeds me every sunday and ofcourse my wonderful partner in crime Mr. Case who has been an inspiration and muse, giving me the fortitude and love with his wisdom,
sex drive, humor and that great smirk of his which leaves me wondering at times what the hell does it really mean?
