You lie there lying to me
You stand there standing down

I move
You move

I fall
You rise

I leap
You sink

Simple as can be
Why then don't I leap?

I could never
Hurt you dear

I may have the power to
I but I will not let the one to hurt be you

Pathospassion:  Forgive me if I am wrong, but is this a true story about a baby that did not make it through birth?

These entries are so good!  I can't even guess.

Had He?

He'd mastered the look of easygoing
though he didn't wear it well
with hints of turmoil just below his surface
his soft smile trained to stay in place
I wondered if he ever fell apart

I caught myself nodding off in his presence
a few times he had to give me a shake
I stumbled to seem coherent and attentive
but we both knew I didn't really care

until he'd tickle my ears with promises
breathe tales of new highs into my mind
teasing me with stories I yearned to believe
but never quite getting me there

keeping my freedom as a question
and my time like a game
I'd try not to look indifferent
eager to get away

I wondered if he ever fell apart...

Stabbed in the rain
You hug me through pain
Saying you would be there
But you were never here
Your not a parent
Not a friend
Nor a person that deserves
Any dessert
I don't know what to call you
So now what do I do
Who is this
Your going soon
And I can't stop you

The Life that We Shared

He had all the answers when he was so young,
knew all the words to every song that was sung.
He never asked me for help or even held out his hand,
may have been young but he felt like a man.

He never took time to think about time,
where he was going or what he was leaving behind.
He wondered down the rode never wondering why,
It was just part of living, something new he must try.

Well, at last, he has caught up with me,
Still singing his songs about how to be free.
I know every tune that he brought along,
but it's to late to change the words to the song.

I wish he had known me back then,
before it was too late to start over again.
Would he have listened, would he have cared?
Would it ever have helped the life that we shared?

Ela

you're making me hungry
when you talk of bodies.
a desire to cut through the skin
to force it to speak
through metaphors.

I'm afraid the competition is still technically running. The end date is set for the 26th of March. Why don't you wait for a few more days until announcing the winner? Another option would be to try to change the end date - i'm not sure if that's possible without the help of the Webmistress though.

Then the end will be 3/26.  Thx., P
