Mine Eyes (sorry if this is really weird, I wrote this very late at night )

As he stood on that second story balcony
I positioned myself at the back of the crowd.
He spoke of Ralph Abernathy and Mt. Olympus
When I headed towards the hall.
The crowd was oblivious to what would occur very shortly
The minds of Americans are so pleasantly ignorant.

"We have nothing to fear but fear itself."

An empty hotel was shown before me; I knew what to do.
A letter from a child was being read
Then I saw the white man.
His gun was loaded; I must stop him
           this man could not interfere.
Like a snake I sprung at him,
His neck had broken so easily, I hadn't realised he was dead
until after his body had grown colder than ice.
I took his gun, and approached the window.

"Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord!"

I pulled the trigger
And killed myself for Civil Rights.

Parting from Southampton, she glittered and gleamed
As the men shouted “all aboard the steel built dream”
Men and women standing a shore,
Watched the beauty set her course

Weather, dancing, food and love, kept it smooth and grand
As the Iron God of sea crossed the Atlantic span
Not an ice berg as she pursued
Not a thing could change the mood

Not sure where we post it, and I won't get the chance to finish. :/ any way it was fun, thanks for this!

Is a rough draft, but fun anyways, hehehe...
Inspired by the Stones *Sympathy for the devil*

Please allow me to introduce myself, For I have been called by many names
I am he that came before, an Walked the in-between
Livin on that Razors Edge, I walked the Shadows
Before the Light brought wisdom to some of the blind,
I was there when the Angels fell, an many a soul came my way,
Before the rise of man, I am…

I heard Abel scream, when I tricked his brother Cain
When man began to multiply before me,
The Blood flowed out, an stained the earth, sealing mans fate

Kept man in the dark ages, when they started to evolve an change,
Their eyes red when I slaughtered many a their innocence,
When the crusades were fought in their Gods Name,

Between Heaven an Hell,
This world, wears my name, an the Sun moon an Stars my seals
Lookin through my eyes,
I watched men reach the sky, an made Heaven is home,
No More need found, for my game

Jealous in Rage,
I Held back the Brothers first flight at Kitty Hawk
When I saw that man would soon rule over the airs, an live beyond my name,
Keeping man grounded longer than was meant to be,
Livin on Vanderbilt’s Rails an ships, the moon now seen as unreal,
Every warmonger calls my name, for speed of flight,
for swifter death, not for saving the hungry an poor,
Mankind will soon take my hand, when they learn my name well,
I am the prince of air, an God of this earth,
Into the dark ages man falls again,
Calling my name out loud before I let him evolve beyond my faith,

A DIFFERENT WORLD ?

Imagine....

John's fearless hands shivered at that point,
his cold blood made his heart sink inside a void.
And he trembled and failed just like before when the hands of courage had forsaken him
and his fingers couldn't pull the trigger when Rathbone fainted him.

What if Lincoln wasn't killed that day?
Would America and the world be the same?
Would his plans be laid and cemented?
Would civil rights for the freed men be effected?

....I would say
Days would be the same.
Lincoln had almost found the edge
of his pledge..

Slavery had almost vanished from the core
even before
we heard him knocking on the heaven's door.
Civil war did its job, although killing countless..
First industrial war for land over a relationship so boundless.

There will be no scratch on his image if he hadn't died.
America and the world wouldn't have been that different, since one man can't out play the man behind the skies...
