Poetry Contest

write a poem
right , this is going to take some working out. first off, volunteers are needed for refs, I'll get to that in a minute.

ok, you sign up here, I'll leave it open for 'bout five days or a week then take the names and sort them into groups.

the poets within groups will compete against each other, scored by poll at the end of each stage

the two highest scorers in each group go forward to the next stage into a new group and so on 'till we have  a final.

your first poems can be about whatever you like but quarter, semi and finals will have a topic you all must adhere to.

that's about it for now

I'd like to have a ref for each group, someone to start a thread so each group is easy to keep together, then afterwards sort out the poll for that group etc  easy as pie


I should that that this competition embraces the great creativity of all Nations past, present and sci fi, ..choose your nations wisely.

I used to like Italy... when they took football seriously. Then they started pulling cunning stunts into having their way... a bunch of whiners and cheaters if you ask me... lol

yeah, bastards knocked us out in 90' quarter finals, furthest we ever got. not so great now, but fabulous parties

Like a typical American during the World Cup, I'm going to come for the partying and beer, not actually field a team, root for the same team as the fans around me because why the hell not (and so I don't get beat up), and stumble home dazed and happy. (To be clear, I'm sitting this one out, but quite enjoying watching it already)
