Dead dad, no more dressing up like Santa, wait a minute he isn't real..
give me a cigarette to calm my nerves after this revelation you drop on me,
a drink?.. I'd love one.. make it a double.
Perfect I'm drunk now it won't hurt to lose my virginity,
wait there's more?.. A broken heart. Quite a day, wouldn't you say?

The thrown of thorns

The rose amidst my features,
One blooming on each cheek
I was told they would stay forever
Never to fade
As long as the innocence stayed.

But, I was also told
That fairytales do in fact exist
A marvellous man will sweep you off your feet
You will lose what’s sacred to the one you love
You have so much potential
You will see when you grow up
But these warped words were on blurred lines
I read between those fucking lines
These lovely lies are filled with bitter undertone.

My tiara, my crown
The thrown of flowers I sat upon;
Daddy’s little girl
But daddy’s little girl fell through the throne
The stunning flowers turned to thorns
My thrown of dirt is where I now lay
I dance in my inequities,
For the boy with the tattoo on his back.

But one boy quickly turned to three,
Multiplying in force, these demons fed on me
They found the girl with the broken soul
Who’s thrown had warped into the unknown

For daddy’s little girl
Was her nickname on the street
The dame of delinquency;
She met her defeat.

This was a hard call. I thank everyone who submitted. Each piece had its own story of the loss of innocence. Darkerhalf and Emmalouise your pieces were fantastic and congrats on being the two runner-ups. Congrats to Emo1 for winning! Again, this was a hard call, much gratitude and admiration. Thanks!
