tell me why you don't deserve to win
and you will.

I am a one dimensional scribe
a part of the rhyme vs free verse devide
my words maybe slick
but my poety is still shit
and this should help you decide.

blood, pills and spring loaded misery
why the fuck shouldnt i be a winner
*shouldn't

the true ugly in me glares and
demands notice
pity and admiration in bed together

they all make the same mistakes
and i get away with it
again

DO I DESERVE TO WIN? A MATHEMATICIAN'S VIEW...

Statistically speaking
There is no chance of winning
Take approximately 20 competitions
For perhaps 10, 000 members
Say only one thousand
Compete at any one time
This means algebra
20/1000 = 2/100
A 2 % chance of winning

Now add on ability
The quality
Of the poem
You get this chance
Even lower
As only the best is offered
Now you have perhaps
A 1 % chance of winning

Finally there is the big issue
Of ***subjectivity***
A moderator
Even Justice
Blind and holding her scales
Cannot be totally impartial
To the kind of poems
She may like to read

Thus the mathematician in me
Says honestly
The chance of winning
Is so small
I wonder why I enter at all!

I don't want to win. I just want some fun
And to stir up things a little (or more).
I plead with setters not to consider
My feeble efforts when I fear I have
Miscalculated and may end up with
The ultimate humiliation of
WINNING.

I specialise in off the cuff and
Obscene limericks. As an  example:

A scabrous man from Tennessee
Offered his cock as his only I.D.
The customs lady whipped out her chopper
And sliced it into her hopper
Declaring: "We must keep this state tidy".

If you dare consider this I will send
One for each of the other forty-nine
States. And that's a threat.

don't pick me
because i'm pretty
and my poems are good

don't pick me because
i've lost all my rhymes

don't pick me because
i know all the forms and
use none of them

don't pick me
i don't mince words

This sounds like something from the art of war

so i think i can win because the odds r against me n every1 is confessing their weakness's but my weakness is my insentive to write  so why wont i win with?

Wasted Accolades

Somebody here will win so graciously
get that trophy and walk, proud of it

Somebody here will take that ego stroke
and become more because of it

but, I wont

I'll be miserable either way
another trophy won't make
nor break my day
or ease the pain

my blues are here to stay

some deserving, new writer
wondering if they have what it takes
will get that assurance from winning first place

giving it to me would be a waste

Sophism

I'll tell you why I don't deserve to win
because I really don't deserve to win
I am the alpha and omega of failure
seriously
because if I've won, it means that someone, who was actually supposed to win,
didn't
If you think that I am the king of losers then you are wrong
I lose even there
it's true, losers have champions
I'm not one of them
I am the key to my downfall
when clouds in summer pass by over head, it only rains on me
even if I'm right next to someone
this is the essence of my core,
to deposit checks only to watch them bounce
Do not grow sympathetic towards my words, the fallacies of sophists are all the fad these days
my poetry is quite literally a fluke, meant to soothe the unfashioned eyes and ears
of those who don't know better
simply, a child's rant to whoever is listening
A tantrum unchecked
Cattle fodder for mass cattle,
you will not buy
my victory here would mean my destruction
most certainly, the heartbreak of someone who has hoped for the opposite
I, the tragic son of fate and loss, am destined to court grief
I implore you to see truth,
not reason
for if I deserve to lose and I don't, then let me win so I don't.
