Poetry Contest

All welcome, one new write each, no collab's ,one week-details below...

1. How the person sees themselves
2. How the person think's other people see them
3. How YOU see the person

You don't have to say who it is-keep it under 500 words
the rest is up to you

ONE NEW ENTRY EACH
TITLE your work

PLEASE use dark colored font that is easy to read-the rest give me headaches-sorry to have to ask this.

thank's in advance.

In The Mirror, In The Mind

Out of the spotlight and into the world
he looks up and sees himself
reflected there just as he is
A mirror image man, all that's inner coming out
He rolls his shoulders, relaxed as ever
breathes one two, one two
then falls heavy into the open arms of his own motivation
and allows it to push him forward
His dark eyes flash back all that his heart holds
So there the decisiveness and the drive
the passion and the purpose
the ache and the openness
all dance unbound to electro pop, wild and free
He spins discs for the revelers
grins at the double him
taps a fingertip to the dirty glass
and knows it to be true

In the doorway, shrouded by stage smoke
she looks in on the moment
to see his face reflected all different to her
The dancing depths of him at odds with her view
and the opinions granted by her vantage point
From where she stands, arrogance owns the floor
It, and the source of it, ever imposing
stepping thoughtlessly over everyone else
too busy with misguided goals to stop, to just stop
and to settle for what already is
'When does confidence become too much?'
She wonders, and watches him, and she thinks
'Here and now, before me -
this is it'
The frown on her face spells it out for him
when he glances to the mirrored middle-distance
But he blinks distaste to oblivion
and knows it matters none

Farther now from this, though near enough
removed by two footfalls from the rest of them
and smothered in starlight, all salt and pepper specks
I shrug into my twilight coat
Squinting through the half-moon dark
my gaze catches promise-laden pavement
But much as my mind begs me journey out
his presence behind beckons more of mine
Pleads for a push past his captious observer
ending in cautious hands that grasp for the whole of him
Or a kiss to his nape aside sweat slick hair
speaking wordless of talent and virtuous triumph
Confused and caught up in his easy caring, I hesitate
whilst in this beat he exhales soft and sated
Then he exits quiet before my arrival
and knows it not
but rather, knows nothing
