Am I crazy for loving you my Adelaide?
You are smart and lovely, elegant and compassionate;
you were the girl of my dreams, and never been forgotten.
I beseech you to look at the bright side,
and never to forget why we love each other so.
Here I am my love, hearken to my plea--
I love you then and now, but your heart can’t see.
My childhood glances as I caught your sweet smile,
revealed more than what I could say.
Every time I smiled you knew, there was something more.
We parted ways with feelings locked within our young hearts...
There were nights when you silently screamed my name
and I bit my lips as you came into my dreams;
the silhouette of a girl appeared with long flowing hair
walking slowly down the beach as if floating on air.
Then one day you showed up in the flesh;
our bodies were fusioned by our tight embrace,
as we felt the burning sensations through our lips.
Your undying love, hope never to give up
and the power of love brought us back together.

I've watched you sleep.
until the sun.

I should've admitted that I loved you once
and attempted to expect so much less
The hate and dismay didn't allow it
At times, I wish I could have that last conversation
and somehow speak it all differently
My strength was my weakness and now you are gone
I hope heaven is all you expected
More than the rest of my deepest desires
I hope you're looking down here and there
You accomplished a few pretty decent things
but nothing as grand as your only offspring
For his sake, I wish I had tried to forget
Just hold the laughs that we shared, as friends
closer in heart than the despair and contempt
I suppose there were times when I said I loved you
But those times were empty and it's taken years to see
Although you weren't ever really the one...
I remember our laughter in the eyes of our son.
