Winter in Manhattan
dissolves
leaving
Easter desolation

I roam
Metro Rapa Nui
long treeless stretches
surrounded
by fellow
strap-hangin` Moai
their eyes
have dropped out
I am unseen

cacaphonous
inner dialogue
ruminations,
reverberations, ations, ations........
helplessly filling
gray matter`s
nooks and crannies
bloat with empty
meanderings
my mouth
wont bother open
stone cronies
cant hear me

quarried sockets
fix upon
ideosyncratic horizons
their common-denominator:
infinitely distanced
destinations
marathonically unaware
we trudge
our elbows
incessantly rub
frictionless
isolated shoulders
have long ago
shrugged

flavors,
or odors,
depending upon degree,
land upon receptors
transiently
taste the same taste,
Do we?
under illusion we`re unified,
each in unique
experiential vacuum,
we accept delivery
of stimuli

evolution
caters individually
googled fruits
of specificity
are gorged upon
their cyber rinds
piled high
forming walls
destroying community
separating personalities
we stand side-by-side
staring out to sea
self-centeredly

"Your Left Behind"

Somewhere between then and truth
my gelded thoughts permit the memory
of your panicked eyes as the cow's tongue
tugged your skin to your skin -
how that executed look would shape
more than a mouthful of admirers
each believing they'll be the last;

there never was,

but I bet they, and know I,
will always have a last.

I wonder if that cow licked as you were torn
from this world;
if your skin constricted to tailor a child
and splayed your eyes across your beloved face,
and now, across mine.

Lonely Days

Who is lonelier then the word itself?
A couple hundred ways to prove
my wealth, yet I'm bound by only
my inner self hiding in a giant
shell giving hell to this rancid
smell I call my golden paradise.
As I continue to roll the dice
nothing gives me pain anymore
but the company of my so-
called friends ready to start wars,
but what am I waiting for?
Instead of making plenty noise
I let the world have the choice
while I sit back never looking
poised to do anything but sob,
who the hell do I need to rob
to get my mojo back again
before it forgets my name?
Let me be just like you, let
me have friends in abundance,
calling out your name and you're
never there, twenty four seven
I'm always scared, so please
forgive my impatient ways
as I climb this well covered
in loneliness till I say, farewell!!

Missing Piece

Let me feel you inside the depths of me
Be my warm breath in damp isolation
Follow me as a shadow in the setting sun
Play as the melody in my favorite love song
Gift me the presence of your company
I need you as my anchor to keep me still
I require your words where I have none
Fill the chair that sits empty without you

I am deprived of the pleasures
life bestows for I am alone
in this box of silent musings
that needs a definitive purpose
as loneliness makes for a poor companion
that I long ago was introduced to
by your leaving

Come back to me
and let me forget
this side of a heartless world
that cannot be without
your presence
for I miss you
