-{ Maiden Man }-
A Meditation on My Soul

I have often heard it said, that one can help their nature,
Yet mine is not the hard ways of men, but far, far softer.
I was born in my heart like a maid, romantic, and loving…
Yet, this world often lacks the fairer gift of understanding.
They say men should be rough and rowdy, but I am not!
I have a gentler nature and I am given to: much thought…
Now my face and form are smooth, and I dress feminine.
Does that make me so wicked, for being who I truly am?

Human terms mean naught to one who is beyond them…
Whilst mortal eyes see but little: when they might so look.
Yet I have dreamed of things no mind can comprehend!
I have seen scriptures not written of in any sacred book.
Have you ever yearned with all your heart for any dream,
As, I have yearned to embrace a love with no limitations?
What beauty there is in fantasy: as bubbles in a stream…
The refinement of pleasure amidst joyous celebrations!

I have changed myself, to match my soul, for that is me…
And I shall carry myself, with a more enlightened dignity.
We are born to our nature, whatever that inclines us to!
God does not err, for was it not both as divine and true…
For me to be what I am inside and so display it, without?
And if I call Her my Goddess I will do so with no doubt.
I am what I was made to be, and I will love accordingly,
Mayhap a maid who will love me more, for my honesty!

Stretch forth your heart, as I bid, to embrace my spirit…
And I will be your illumination as you evolve beyond this,
The realm that would entrap and ensnare us as it sees fit!
Take my hand, and be the one to know my wanton kiss.
I am freedom, I am passion and I cannot be aught else…
Will she come to me, my dream lover, and become real?
I pray, that she will come to see the grace in how I felt…
When first I dreamed of a love that could, my soul, steal.

I can be her lover, her sister, her friend, and her beacon.
There is potential within me that I must not let weaken…
For I am a lady as much as a lord, for I am whole inside.
I have embraced a greater balance, and in it I will abide!
Let no man judge me for choosing the path I must walk,
It was preordained how I would look and think and talk.
I cannot change and go back to being what is not myself,
For I am true to my nature and in that is priceless wealth.

On the morrow I shall hope to glimpse the dawning sun…
Like a child I shall behold it, and see the newness of day.
I was as giddy for the moon, when this night had begun…
For I must indulge both joys, since that was ever my way.
Shall I love the lad within you lass, with such lusty fervor?
What a complex thing the soul can be, and yet so simple!
I would have you see me as I truly am and thusly confer…
More joys upon you than one gender could ever be able.

- My Name is Jessica -

My name is Jessica, and it means: “God Beholds”.
I do feel often, as if some higher power looks on…
Protecting me, cherishing me, and never it scolds!
My spirit shines brightly, as radiant as the hot sun.
Passionate is my fire, and divine is my spirit’s flame,
Yet human is my heart, and deep is my tenderness.
I am compassionate and caring, thinking not of gain,
As I try to help others, and to ease all their distress.
I have known much of sorrows, and of horrid loss,
But I have risen above it all, on wings of pale light!
In my passion’s fire, what need have I for the frost?
My eyes see beyond it, gifted with a keener sight…
And so I see the fitting nature of the name I do bear.
It is a gift, and I have received it with a willing heart!
If the body is raiment, then a name too we do wear.
And names are created, with meaning and with art.

Like the springtime blossom all filled with promise,
Such is my sense of wonder and my zeal for living.
I seek after love, happiness, and every: good bliss,
As I do try to remain humble, gracious, and giving.
If God beholds all that I do, then I think He smiles!
For although I am not perfect, I continue to strive…
Pure are my intentions, and purer still are my wiles.
I cannot be other than I am and what I am is alive!
I am a lady both of class and too of noble bearing,
And yet, I look down not upon those around me…
Whilst of myself I am both considerate and sharing.
The beauty of my name is ever visible for all to see,
For it lies in all I am, all I do, and all as I ever was!
This is more than just my nature, it is: my essence…
And I embrace it with gladness, without one pause.
In am more than the sum; I am a true quintessence!

To look for the meaning in name, deed, and soul…
Is itself, a quest for enlightenment that cannot end!
For the greater universe, is beyond all our control.
So I look to my rocks: each loved one and friend,
Which grounds me to what is important and vital…
A warm hand, a gentle embrace, a laugh or a kiss!
It is tragic that so many souls are selfish or spiteful,
Because the things I enjoy are what they will miss.
My name is Jessica, and let God behold my voice,
Singing with glory, these things that must be said…
Coupled with praises, of the most celestial choice!
We only stop singing when we are gone and dead.
So let the music play on, as I conduct it with joy…
To pass the time pleasantly, with those I do adore.
Let my spirit be playful with life, as if life be a toy!
I cannot do less, but I ever long to do much more.

You’re so beautiful
I wish you could see it too
But I promise you
I will spend the rest of my life telling you

  Your smile

I could live off of it for years

  Your eyes

I could stare at them all day

You’re so amazing
I wish you knew how much
But I promise you
I will spend the rest of my telling you

The way you look at me

It sends a flood of warmth through me

   The way you hold me

I’ve never in my life felt safer

You’re so perfect
I wish you loved yourself
But I promise you
One day you’ll love yourself
the way I love you

poet Anonymous

Idolatry

She is the apotheosis
the sculpted facets
of mythical goddesses

Expressing a resilience
that echoes through wars
and allegory

Her image etched
into green stone
bridges legend and reason

Imbued with the rarest elegance
and grace
are her curves

The sun stains them not
and the moon pays tribute
by its pale blue resplendence
painting with a soft brush
a royal hue

Burnt within the fabric
of my mind
she resides as an immortal

Her divinity
unquestionable, unforgettable

Her celestial tapestry
of an abiding tenderness
asserts its boundless perfection

She is my golden calf, my idol
by which I awake
and kneel beside
that I can know true beauty

It is in her memory
I bathe

From my thoughts of her
I see art

In the presence of her sculpture
my love is defined
