In some of my darkest, most painful and frightening hours,
I have prayed not for the answers to my prayers or for material things
but for my “God” to help me find the strength, confidence and courage
to persevere; to face each day and to do what I must do.

I Want To Win

I'm inspired by the winners of the competitions I applaud them
But one day I'm positive that I'll win in one of the forums
I know that I'm new and no one knows me just yet
But on my road to triumph I won't get upset
Until the day I win I promise I won't rest
Even after I do I'll still do my best
I won't be knocked down I refuse to be ignored
I swear on my pen I'm going to win one of those awards
A digital medal placed onto my profile
I'll do whatever it takes to improve my writing style
My creativity's on fire trust and believe I'm thirsty
I know I'm capable of winning one I know in my heart I'm worthy
I'm sure one day I'll be recognized for my steely will and wit
I don't care if it takes me 50 years the last thing I'll do is quit

Mother, child, reckless lover,
heck what I'd do to have myself above her.
This image, a photograph,
when I was tiny and innocent, all smiles and affection.
It's a comfort however proud I am
of who I've become.
Love beats me everytime.
I'm a fool for it
but I am impressed
after everything my
rose-tinted glasses
are still clean,
tidy
and durable.

"Come on, you can do this!"
"Now, that is a lie."
"There's a girl, there's a fire!
Just go, go inside!"

"You've done this once,
your affairs with fire
they can do anything,
but mostly inspire."

"There is no way,
you'd lose your life.
Nobody has to know
you were even here tonight!"

Feet drag me forward,
eyes squinting in the blaze....
I find a young girl,
she expresses her praise.

But my lungs are full of ash,
besides, my life is a joke.
I see the girl to the door,
and surrender to smoke.

My head talked me through it,
I saved innocent life.
Cool washes over me,
this bright, burning night.

SUMI-E

i am ornamented with this thin fine brush,
were my lines are outlined and mastered by he.
i am unlike you from other modern sculpture.
unbound to fly high like the obscure vulture.
you stop and stare to amaze my view
as if i was some legend of any kind.
abstract i say,
resembling a notorious style of talent.
inkstone creates me of distinct appearance.
made of oil soot combined with animal glue.
of a reputation known as  strong bamboo.
i am within landscapes or flowers..
so powerful i may be highlighted with gold.
you watch me, with the tools that created me.
i am unlike you from other modern sculpture.
unbound to fly high like the obscure vulture.

Wow, thank you!  I was honored to just receive the acknowledgement.

Thank you-an excellent write that conveyed a real sense of realism. I really felt how these words could inspire-while not posing a challenge to intellect by being overly inspired. Congratulations!
