Holding On

Desperately holding on
to something
in the last hour
you don't know
it let you go
it already had a hold
of you
before you knew
way before you could cower .
You've slipped away
on the appointed day
nobody escapes
the stairwell tower.
Life
the compulsory addiction
post existence
the impossible prediction .
Running away
from the spiritual crew
you dont know
that before you were born
it already had you .
We are reaching for a life
with no pain
maybe we can
on another plain.

Fragile

Fragile are we
surrounded by the undrinkable
sea
astounded by all possibility
grounded on a world
so watery .
Canyons appear
under water
mother nature we fear
and mass slaughter
a future unclear
each other we torture
but every second is always near
bringing a son or a daughter .
Fragile humans
yet to be overthrown
diseases that get blown
illnesses unknown .
Fragile are we
as each day turns
agile toxicity
in a world
of solar burns
and unsurety .

Rolling The Dice

Life.. is like
rolling the dice
we cant choose are own parents
So we hope they get it right
As we strive to survive
One day in the life
As crack babies crave
bottles of milk
laced with cocain
The nurses shake there heads
and say "that child will
never be the same
As yet one more child
gets lost in there dreams
as they struggle to not let
life fall apart at the seams
Ancient Anscestors
now disguise themselves
to help us on our way
They deliver certain signs
that we must read between the lines
As we pray to get through
another day.

Sojourner:

At times...
the love was ripped right out of me
but I kept loving
heart beating on the ground
but I kept loving
Sometimes the pain from loving
was so profound
I couldnt even cry... outloud
but I kept loving... any way
I kept telling my heart
that soon a good love
one that was true
would find us...
and heal us..
and make us brand new
so until that time
I will keep loving
until I find a real love
that is all mine.

The Sojourner Left Behind a Song

He did not know what he sought for,
He did not understand where he was going,
He did not hear the telling tune,
Or see the path that sorrow was showing.

Until one day he came upon a broken girl,
Whose life was bruised and torn;
And yet this stricken soul was singing,
With her heart against a thorn.

He could do nothing but stop and listen,
As her voice with sorrow unfurled,
But she sang of only light and hope,
To a grieving, weeping world.

She sang of this long journey,
Of all its joys and its pains,
And how the harshest of these storms,
Only washed away all the stains.

He felt his confusion leave him,
As he listened to this song of sweetness;
And felt his heart drift with this tune,
To a future bright with completeness.

He began to understand this journey,
This sojourn upon the earth;
Was made up of gains and losses,
That could lead us to untold worth.

He could see now that this lovely song,
Was of pain and sorrow borne,
And that his song was none the sweeter,
Than when his heart was against a thorn.

WE ARE BUT SOJOURNERS OF THIS EARTH

We are strangers and pilgrims

Locked in our earthly body

Experiencing rejection, scorn, loneliness

In our temporary home

From Abraham to Moses

From Moses to Jesus

Our earthly lives exist of

Being exiles on this planet

The twelve tribes in dispersion

Waiting to get once more

Into the promised land

We wander and we wonder

The purpose and existence of man

My pilgrim heart is homeless and dreary

I have a lot of work to do

To redeem my sinning soul

Before I come home to you!

I started before I knew it
This great expedition

Some had the chance they blew it
The chance to know their mission

We walk in groups but journey alone
Through life's transient streams

Every sojourner must have a goal
And mine's to forever be

Close to Thee,O Lord of Host
Throughout my journey do your will

Naked I come,naked I'd go
Never deluded by worldly things

Pleasure and pain
All is a test

Life and its ups and downs
I always do my best

That when Im done with this earthly sojourn I'd be
A ransomed soul,in heaven I'd rest

Spend time well-
It's do then die
You can if you try
And we before I.

It's life is a choice
It's finding a voice
It's spreading love
It's help from above

If I can give and
Spread some hope
Refuse to play in failures remote
Spend time in seeking-preventing
some weeping-
revealing that seeing is only believing
And rejecting the bad and embracing the right-
And helping a friend get through the night.

It's knowing the journey is a bitch of a road-
But seeing that one day-the good will go home.

Life is like a musical journey

Sometimes a sad bit of country
Sometimes a walk with the Blues

Knowing when to rock it on
Knowing when your song is too long

Hearing words between the notes
Hearing the Writers' Anecdotes

Learning to look beyond the hits
Learning that connection is hit or miss

Seeing when to go with The Classics
Seeing when to pick piano ballads

Loving like the Long old Hymns
Loving not in lyrical whims.

Seeking solace in another's pain
Seeking meaning's in their versed shame

Deciding which group will begin
Deciding who's next as the Album spins

Accepting old Artists as they become new
Accepting new ones as they cover their tunes.

Leaving the show having done your best
Leaving all you know behind for the rest
