Because I Can
Why compete that is what you ask
To answer this is such a simple task
Like it or don't my thoughts are there
I can share what i think so its not trapped in here
I don't know you you don't know me so there is no fear
I write what think feel and if you hate it I'll she no tear
I want to share with every one my gift
Having a direction to go is nice for my own thoughts are to many to sift
So it's relay up to you, you can choose not to be or to be a fan
In summation though I enter simply
Because I Can

Well, I have no idea to give the trophy.
I know the Art world is laden wit prizes, trophies, awards, etc, but to me, competition is antithetical to the spirit of the muse.
The trophies on my page were not awarded in competition. The "system" has changed, Those were "awarded" to most positive, encouraging comments, Maybe. I don't really remember exactly.

I'm not "judging" anyone. I'm just curious as to why so many do that which i find of no interest.
Call me a chicken shit for not jumping into the fray, but i just don't see why i should "judge" my own work with some so contrived framework.
A long time ago, I might have cut my own throat to have a hundred trophies on my DUP page. I want my stuff to come from a place in me that is not propelled by my egocentric expectations. Jeez. So much anger and resentment out there. I have it too. But for me those kind of emotions end up sabotaging it's own "worth"....cheapening it. All to get a bunch of folks riled up with the with an audience that reinforces the lack of transcendence ( that makes poetry beautiful).
Everybody won!!! As usual, I won't be showing up here (forum) very much. God, I fear getting my poetic ass kicked worse than death itself. HINT: let's not take ourselves too seriously, eh?
