Lovely Bren. The New Moon in Taurus is the perfect day to plant or repot. The Moon is growing and Taurus represents the Earth. I repotted 8 plants and seeded two more. I am halfway through. I have 6 more to seed and one more to repot.

Purple Coneflowers, Zinnia, Marigolds, Dianthus Chinese Pinks.

If you want to connect to spirit, nature is the best way. .

The garden here is abuzz.  I believe that with some gardens, it is necessary to listen to the garden, and to garden sympathetically with its needs and wants :)

Okay my gut was just ripped out when the first NaPoet crossed the finish line and I issued their certificate. It's like I have been hit by an semitruck of emotion.

Tonight is the anniversary of my boy Buddy losing his life on a dark highway, on Thursday night May 2, 2024. I'm not expecting anyone to remember but I came here for commiseration and support and received it. So thank you for that. He was an overly adventurous boy, too bold for his own good. He was kinda the alpha-cat of my fur family, so the other cats have been slowly adjusting to their new roles. I will miss him for the rest of my life, and still pondering on whether or not I forgive the gods for this one (I'm a believer, and I still curse them on the reg....my relationship with them is similar to Conan's relationship with Crom). I miss my boy. He was chief cat round these parts, 13 lbs of rounded muscle. He was sleeping on a raccoon when I found him in one of our dumpsters. I'm pretty sure he spent significant time believing that he was a raccoon!

I am so sorry for your loss! Many don't understand that animals aren't just animals but parts of the family that mold the way it weaves through life day by day. He looks just like Leo, that stray tomcat that showed up at my door one day. He was with me for a year and had a harem ( although I made sure the harem was spayed! ) and a way of bringing cats together peacefully. He never hissed. He never growled. He never scratched. He was like Buddha.

Then one day I had an unknown person knock at my door and ask me if he was mine and informed me that he had been hit by a car on the road while trying to get to an irresponsible cat owner's home who didn't believe in spay or neutering animals. The person told me that the house had about 30 cats and they were constantly having kittens. She said they had buried him for me but wanted to make sure I knew.

It's been roughly a year here too. I feel you, brother.

Animals are indeed part of the family.  I used to say cats and dogs, but I see videos on Instagram where people are interacting with donkeys, starlings, crows, hens ….  So now I say animals.
