I agree. But there isn't much time and some people can't possibly save all their writings here. This site needs to stay upba few months longer.

Is there a way to export my poems to another site or a blog as other sites do when closing?
If not, is there a way to delete a group of poems rather than one at a time?
Will there be an archive of the site, or will it simply disappear?

I'm trying Poetry Circle but the setup seems weird and hard to navigate. Your poems aren't shown on your personal page like here. Also you must wait 24 hours before posting on a 'thread.'
Writers Cafe is a good - easy to use - site where you can post anytime, as much as you want with no waiting period. However, erotica is not very popular, and any comments are slow to come, if you get any at all.

I joined DU in 2013 writing erotic poetry 😱🤣 and some of it made its way into an audio exhibition in London - twice! I've not been that present of late but DU is still a home away from home. In the early years I couldn't get enough of it and some of my favourite poets - take a bow Poetspeak, lepperochan, case28 and many more whose names currently escape me - urged me on.
Take a bow DU because you were an integral part of my life when I embarked on writing in late 2013. Since then I've had worked published and my 1st play just closed after a successful 6 night run in North Melbourne, Australia. It's sad to see you close and not only because I have to find a home for all my poems (am I pulling at your heartstrings Webmiss?
), but because it's an end of an era for Webmiss and most definitely for me. All the best to all the poets, may you continue to write masses. All the best Webmiss on your next adventure!
Moves me to say for all of us, "Let us grieve together".

I got the above message from Poetry Circle after trying to post my 2nd " thread " 48 hours after posting the 1st one.
I dont mind paying but i want to know that things work before paying.
i dont understand instructions at the best of times but " thread " for a simple villanelle posted
is beyond my ken.
" Hello Poetry " is another one to try
though it seems a bit empty to me
but, they are all
empty compared
to DU.

I don't see anywhere to delete your account?

I'm a paying member of Poetry Circle. It is absolutely not set up like DUP, but most things aren't. It works just like any internet forum: you post a thread, then people comment. Eight likes or more, and your poem gets in the 'featured' category. I've found some good poets over there and received good critique and comments.
I'm not out here trying to sway people to join another site since I know one thread about this got shut down, but I figured I'd give you my experience, Rew.

Thanks for that DaisyGrace. The info is a big help especially the bit about
" Internet Forum " which I've not heard of so if I research that it should give me an insight
into poetry circle.
It is just unfortunate, for me, that I find site navigation difficult.
I guess I got spoiled with the easiness of DU.
So, many thanks DaisyGrace.for the help.

Nothing comes close to DU but, it's an ill wind, blah, blah.
So I'm going to try to get my finished work organised and
and get everything bookshaped ready for vanity publishing.
I did that once a few years ago but now I've another 300 pages
to add to the original 80 so, on reflection, and, remembering how
hard the 1st lot was. Stuff it! An end of an era?
