Poetry Contest

Nature poems, 1O lines or less, one entry per, non erotic and no AI
Not for the competition

Cozy moon, too lazy, whispering sweet fondue
too lazy to touch the fragrance of the dew
with a gentle breeze, listening too sheaves
in silence of sleeves neath the taboo bamboo
too lazy to touch the dew, "Sacré Bleu"

we make new names for old Gods

The evening sky blushes through my window
between twilight and darkness we lie, looking out
waiting for the stars through the
leafy silhouettes of palm tress

I try to teach you all the names
of the creeping constellations
but you make up your own
giggling into the deepening sky

We are so small under the burning tendrils of light
and so blessed to see them, and name them at all

Autumnal ceremony

https://youtu.be/dCBgDAu1Bkw

A bevy of  invisible houris 🍁
🍁🍁🍁and imaginary fairies,
cavorted about as elfin brides
under a saffron maple tree🍁🍁🍁
Dressed in prism-hued layers
of chiffon in ethereal shimmers🍁
🍁and delicate silken gossamers
They having their group wedding in the fall
And fairy folk bustled about all around 🍁
as flimsy and flighty as they could be
while bronze leaves fell upon the brides🍁
🍁🍁🍁 in ceremonial nuptial
An autumn's ritual🍁🍁🍁
🍁🍁🍁and as nature's pretty confetti! 🍁🍁🍁

Branches denuded 🍁
🍁🍁🍁Yet autumn's august
for the wilting's ravishing!
The willowy fairies, with nylon veils
almost drowned and veiled
in henna fallen maple leaves as well
Playing hide'n' seek🍁🍁🍁
with browny brownie grooms
🍁🍁🍁also camouflaged in the heap...🍁🍁🍁

As autumn's cold khaki has warm colours...

The Rainforests Tapestry

Birds chirping a sing along song
Croaking frogs and cicadas join in strong
With their orchestra of buzz and hum
The haunting howl of the howler monkeys drum
The rhythmic rustle of the breeze and leaves
Echoing the chorus of foliage and trees
The deep thunderous rumble of cascading falls
An organ hissing with mist in natures halls
Raindrops splatter under this vibrant canopy
A marimbas pitter patter, the rainforests tapestry

AFTERNOON PASTORAL

Dry leaves rustle, crumble as the day grows older.
I am alone; my thoughts travel to dark places.

I am 50 and female, an open wound.
So much passion, so much tenderness.

Roosters cry from within the farmer's property next door.
The world is lodged inside some other window,

blurred and smudged by soft nostalgia and regret.

The wind swirls at my feet. Then love slowly exhales,
swallows me whole with no room for breathing.

Another One for Trotsky

The Robin with his fiery breast of red
will fight the white of Winter to the death,
but if when March arrives he's cold and dead,
if that brave bird has breathed his final breath,
then Winter's Ice will grip throughout the land
and all mankind will feel white frozen hand
begin to tighten on the neck of Spring,
to throttle every hope within the Earth,
abort and kill the budding Life at birth –
the Robin must defy the frost and sing!

February Frost

The oak trees in winter
into the painted grey skies
ghosts of the midwinter fires
flames of darkness, touching down on earth
the purest water of the black lake
the great cold death brought forth

Fall

Enflamed in orange
dark and bold
engulfed and smothered
the cries of crows
draws close a change
carried by the petrichor
senses ignite
a beautiful vein of light
speaks without judgment
the voice of the earth
the sigh of a heart
untouchable rain falls
will the leaves follow,
or just me?

not a competition entry because it's 14 lines, but it is a poem about nature(season)

Compelling call

Nature guides, imploring witness admire it's effortless splendour.
A day crafted to envelop, so flourish its artistic grandeur.
In journey forgoing destination.
Purpose navigates, drawn from inspiration.
As delicate aroma scents the gentle breeze.
Wisping Sweet Alyssum, Hyacinth and Peonies.
Carries, germinating stir in eager pollinators.
Sweet reward of nectar, to entice awaiting visitors.
Valley abuzz as a fruitful rhythmic chaos begets.
Then slowly waning as moon rises and sun sets.
