I live in Cali and it is very frightening what is happening,.. I am not in LA but I am affected by the Political infrastructure that appears to be crumbling... while fires remain unchecked entire cities burned...

Thinking of you and all others affected by this mass devastation, Brenda.

A PRAYER UPON FIRE 💔😭

We stand on sacred ground today,
perhaps even more sacred
than yesterday’s ground.

Our city. Our home.
She outgrew her old form.
She did.
She couldn’t be contained by it.
She is now bigger than she was.

See her now, ascended in fire.
Let your heart break, but let her go
even though you can’t let her go.
Perhaps she was ready.
Perhaps she wanted God
more than she wanted herself.

Our Lady. Our city.
Returned to sky.
Returned to ground.
Returned to herself.

Look under your feet — there she is.
Look into your heart — there she is.
Look into your memory — there she is.

Look everywhere,
except where she once stood.

Even God’s houses must crumble.

Impermanence is the law,
rendering everything sacred
even before its sanctification.

It hurts, I know.
But it hurts even more
to stop hurting.

Our city. Our friend.
All the prayers you held,
the hopes and dreams of untold thousands -
mothers, lovers, fathers, children.
All the secrets, the tears, the sorrow,
delivered today in fire.

They say you are just “buildings,”
but aren’t we all?

Destruction. Rebirth.
Water and flame.
Loss and reconstruction.
Hope and despair.

And this poor human heart,
trying to make sense of it all.

We stand on sacred ground today,
perhaps even more sacred
than yesterday’s ground.

I don’t know.

Goodbye, my friend.

I have been reading about it, but I still can't figure it out - how much of the territory of LA has burnt?
I am so sorry!
p.s. the altadena rabbit museum has burnt... I just donated to the fundraiser... the owner cried so much in an interview, he crushed my heart.
