far from the echoes of my past.

to dance with the stars in their gleam,
carving a path through the endless skies,
leaving behind every broken dream.
Lost in the rush of the breeze,
Weightless and free, untethered by pain,
No longer bound by memories' chains,
I’d never descend to earth again.

Instead of carrying these scars,
I’d drift through the heavens, untouched and wild,
No longer haunted by who we are.
To soar so high, above everything,

Strange world, indeed...a day after I posted that old Iron Maiden song, original vocalist Pauly D died from severe health issues at the age of 66 (a very appropriate number, considering its Iron Maiden we're talking about here). I remember when I was a little kid how much those 2 records scared me with their terrifying cover art and gothic sound, but when my first dog (coincidentally named "Killer" lol) died in the early 80's, I was working through my grief with those first two Di"anno records. And the synchronicities abound. It's strange how memories of those records were on my mind in the days before his passing. RIP Big Paul
