Poetry Contest

Write like any other poet on DUP
This should be good fun. Come on down and chose a DUP poet that is in contrast with your own style and subject matter and write like them. No hate speech or disrespect targeting your chosen will be acceptable. Let's show our fellow poets some love and respect while we try to steal what makes them a poet.

Please be sure to reference the poet you are imitating
One entry per, please. Choose wisely

The devil’s hourglass/Tastes like Adagio

“The devil never sipped on molasses…” Like a humbled pumice, the apparitions with “mottled plumage” hung over the ocean like paradise. A riddle of nectar stained the designer of vile breeding words with the collector of quips as the hourglass clung to the nether.

Winter's Prose

In autumn's glow, the world begins to rest
And amber leaves descend in weathered flight
The summer's heat now finds a gentler quest
As chilly winds chase the lingering light

The trees, donning their robes of ember gold
Stand sentinel against the waning sun
Their branches reach with tales of seasons old
While shadows stretch as days are nearly done

The air is crisp, a breath of frost and pine
As harvests yield their bounty to the earth
The twilight hours in muted hues align
And nightfall's calm descends with tranquil mirth

In autumn’s arms, we find a soft repose
A fleeting peace before the winter's prose

Bite Me €€€€€ Possibly PoetSpeak

Step in my chamber
Blood
Sweat
Tears
That's enough about my musical preference
Chains
Bring lots of rope
Oil babe
Pain is gain
Great line
Rogue
Vogue
Yeah I like Madonna
So what?
I like my lips
So do you
Box head
Kamala rocks
Dirty socks
Wanna smell em?
Dampness
Wet
These lips
Your mouth
Box head
Bite me
Hard
Known far and wide
There will be a book
Followed by a film
Broadway show in the works
Pretty hot, right?

Hades: I have noted the poets in my author's note; however, are we to post them here too? Also, is there a limit on entries?

Good point. Thanks. I will amend the rules

Thanks for clarifying, Hades. I'll edit mine to reflect the imitated poets.
