2024 Official DUP NaPoWriMo Discussion Thread
Our next Team Feature is none other than DUG, a wormy, squiggly mascot who has assisted NaPoets through DU's annual challenge by sliding through crevices and tunnels too narrow for participants to squeeze through! By doing this, he's not only alerted us to dangers, but also provided ice-cold adult beverages, Daisy's Sugar Cakes, hope through Ahavati's meltdowns, and last but not least, poetic inspiration when we felt we couldn't go on!

The quote reminded me of an old poem of mine, so here it is to stimulate those NaPo vibes:
THE ROSEBUD
The rosebud held counsel
kept potential tight in the core
did not flower in the usual way
chose singular path of less, for more
and as her fired roots spreead deeper and wider
bearing the future by closing to door
the rosebud shone in the dark of the night-time
surrendered, completed, with love to outpour
and all of the roses in all of the gardens
in all of the worlds in the heavenly store
were thankful to one rose, the rose universal
whose budding remained all contained in the core.

Our last Team'24 feature is none other than our own WebMiss! Her story is simple, one day, 15 years ago, a coder who loved poetry woke, and like Forrest Gump, decided to put on her garden shoes. But, unlike Forrest Gump, she didn't run! Instead, she dug, and dug, and dug until locating a hidden underground cavern that resembled a huge world wide web stretching from continent to continent that could capture poets from across the globe to share their poems of inspiration with one another!
Webmiss has ensured that DU's annual NaPo event runs smooth and efficiently! From working beind the scenes to create a phenomenal NaPo Central page to marketing to creating each year's trophy, she is there supporting us and encouraging our success!
Because of her efforts, NaPo is the most successfully continuing endeavor in the history of Deep Underground Poetry!
