Light

Madness is never silent
crucially defiant
never to rest
born to struggle
I grasp onto night
holding a place
for my own darkness
so I can appreciate the light

Thank you, I don’t know if it’s worthy of that, but I appreciate it. If.

Outsider Art

The sordid individual is what’s
always appealed to me. A killer, recluse,
the cynic seen by none.
My artistic obsession has never grown beyond
a need to feel the sharpest blades of thought,
to stand outside oneself and be a self only,
and if the pen was born to dwell on guilt and misery,
there is a joy in this. The joy and pain of too far gone,
the deep Satanic element
retained not just as childish statement,
but human consciousness divine,
a sacred from the mere profane.

the only true and real moment

if I fall, let me lie
there in the
dirt and drink
it in like a thirsty
man needing
water

if I hate, let it be
pure and holy like
the eyes of a saint
beholding a
slaughtered
lamb

if I love, forgive
me, then turn
away with
disgust

if I die, erase my .
name from the sky,
then forget about
me

if I cry, laugh at
me, then tell
me that sorrow
is a clown burning
in effigy of
waste

if I dream, awaken
me and I will share
with you photograph's
of damnation

if I need comfort,
abandoned me
to the stillness
of entropy

if I want silence,
scream at me
until the mirror
shatters and all
reflections are
used up

it I lie, believe in
me like the belly
of the dead believes
it will never be
full again

the only true and real
moment is the moment
that is happening right
now

between
us

Land Of The Fee

Why sure,
have whatever you want
ya'll are free to choose,
just make sure to pay for it all before you leave.

How your ancestors must weep
for when they sold their lives
to keep their neighbours free
and noble was the land,
how truly noble,
that lost land of the free.

The three vignette on nothing

one

Rabbit in the back field
Father got me to shoot it badly with a shotgun
we walked up, it was kicking pathetically
I still held the gun
He said "finish it."
I hesitated
It's eyes shining wide, nostrils flaring
"Finish it!!"
I hammered the shotgun butt
onto the rabbits head
"That's my boy!" He said, proudly
I look into its glazed eyes
I was numb
That death ment nothing

two

Anthony Dent
School friend, asthma patient
Died very young
we traveled in buses
To line up and kiss him goodbye in his coffin
He looked like he was sleeping
But I knew better
He was dead as that rabbit I felled with the gun
Ice cold skin
Nothing behind his closed eyes
We all came out wailing and crying
Went home in buses
Over three bridges

three

Pain in my chest
Saturday night
Lots of charlie
Autumn '98
Grew intense like fire so drove myself to A and E
Collapsed at the door
Heart attack confirmed
Passing out, feeling cold
Anthony Dent lying amongst flowers
Dead rabbit in the brown grass
My eyes fade out...
I awake
I'm alive, but can confirm no insight
to death except
Nothing

Being with Alison

I was almost her
Before the bony fingers
Of time
Began to tug my face
Like putty, sinkening
Under merciless groping
Pinching and plying my skin into
Mean, furrowed clefts

She’s beautiful
And when she laughs
Her hair lifts off her breasts
Her eyes search for the vulnerable
And the yearning.
We suffer while
She occupies the space where we all breathe

I feel myself disappear.
I examine with lumbering dread
My hands
As they evaporate
My legs that blur into a vapy fog
The contours of my face soften into obscurity
My mind is a flurry
Of distress

And in the wedge of space
I still possess
I perch on my haunches,
A vulture,
Brimming with despair
She is my torment
And I am a creature of remorse.
