shadows within shadows

hurt within the desolate vow
keening in the doorway of shadows
my love is lonely in the hours of pain
feeling no one can understand his level of emptiness

I weep at the threshold not daring to cross over
and disturb the precarious hold he has on it
slipping from his fingertips is his sanity
with a quick intake of breath I feel him fall further

my heart is a harlot of faith
believing in virtuous need
that wisdom can be garnered even from agony
I appreciate the moments in between

death takes a ragged breath
I fear only one thing will I see you again?
creeping into my heart terror
I look in your eyes and know you've already left me

in my quiet time we meet in the sun
the shadows have retreated
you are safely across

A Black Little Rain Cloud...

Man, I wish I was a cloud.
Just forever adrift, aimlessly.
Going with the flow.
The life.

What do they taste like though?
Are they sweet and melt on your tongue or soft and fluffy?
I don't know man.

I'll tell you this.
I don't like those planes man.
Like, they are hogging up the whole sky.
Getting in my view man.
I'm just trying to enjoy the clouds.

A good day for me is the sun beaming down.
As I float down the imaginary lane.
What does that cloud look like?
A rabbit?
A peace sign?
The answer is a cloud...

YES, I CAN HELP IT

CHOICE

How many times
have I, or you, done
something that caused
someone to reprimand
us, and we replied, "I
can't help"? I know I
have numerous times; why
after all, I'm only human.
BUT
relative to YOU, when
I stare at you, desire you,
steal a kiss from you,
dare to gently touch,
explores and pleasure
your body in secret places;
and even stray into your
"no, no' zone.
Guess what?
I'm not going to cop out
by saying "I couldn't help it."
That would be a lie.
WHY?
Because we both know
what we want and need
and need no apologies.
There is one thing I
cannot help, no never;
and that's meeting you
at the Kissing Place.

Something, Anything

willing my hand to move,
I reprimand my favorite pen,
as if resting there makes it guilty

my notebook demands its lines,
scratched by sands escaping
burial within this hourglass figure

yet I am lost, my imagination
begging me to dream something,
to breathe life into my sleeping fingers

the fire within my belly rages,
a thief that swallows my words whole
leaving me just these fragments
