Nine skittles (nonet rhyme)

Nine skittles stood in a diamond shape
the bowler, advanced with great haste
 took clear aim, not hesitate
tried to inject some pace
slipped up by mistake
tripped on a lace
Tried to fake,
a cramped

I signed your cast with a red felt pen
they said you wouldn't paint again
as thick oils dry and crack
you start to take it back
then all the colours
begin to run
vibrant as
morning
