The Greatest Panjamdrum

There once was a philologist
a selcouth bagnio- callypgian
A lost man,  gorgonized with
a dirl forming upon
 his hairy philtrum

He would lulliloo,  from his
cockloft,  sounding like a
Hookah Hubble Bubble
escaping from a keld.

Notably strange indeed
A rare renifleur, who
collected kackidrosis
within a  pooter bottle

Racing to Flower

( a Renga )

bluebells bursting—
swallows over Sahara
chasing their rebirth

racing to flower
before air becomes acid
like no other spring

or vengeful hornets
killing bees as they forage
—nothing will grow

pandemic—
warm days come on wings
but who shall harvest

far from a garden
more silent than birdsong
__empty streets

Seasonal Reflections

Spring greens defy any snowy residue
Transformations like approaching without a warning

Summer takes an unprecedented swat
Heat kills everything
What’s left isn’t always pretty

Fall stuns us with maroon vibrancy
Some little leaf offerings
Perhaps apologizing
For dying foliage

Winter doesn’t answer back
Quiet fractals do all the talking

renga: writer's block

silent night
air cleaner shows blue smile
goose flesh quacking

no garden songs
single lamp accusing
shodo unmoves

light box sputters
fingering modern rice paper
“your kung fu is weak”

sunlight scatters floors
eight buddhas dusting shelves
smells like death

turkey pecking roof
watch silhouette frozen
goddess laughs at last

Criminal Blood Christenings

Pregnant criminal docked
“Eighteen months” snarled Judge -
Adoption to deliver baby from crime.
Through tears, noticed
Infant’s tightly clenched fist,
Cradled for last time.

Salubrious suburbia
House glistened glittered.
Proud party, homecoming
Guests cooed –
“Our new addition.”
Cameras flashed.

Child opened hand,
Onto carpet rolled
Midwife’s wedding ring.

Why can't we ?

As we wake again
In this broken world
Controlled by faceless beings
We must ask ourselves Why
We can't do the things we want
Unless we get the nod
From some unscrupulous bastard
Who sits inside their tower,
Break free
Do the things you want
As long as no pays

In the dark

Soledad,
Her dad, turned dead, had died.

Found drunk was broke,
But stabbed and cooked.

In his boat alone,
wearing coat unknown.

The tide was strong!
They fought.
So wrong,
It was night.

That day,
He was killed, without light by him.

Some Ray, she read
But Killer they said.

Icarus' Last Wish

When Icarus
- prudent Daedalus' restive son -
having flown too close to the sun,
was descending to an unfortunate but certain death,
his fast approaching demise did not even cross his mind...

Burning down through thin clouds
a single thought obsessed him:

Would he ever, and how,
get to fly again...
