Do not believe in *death* just a transition between dimensions...
And frankly do not care who did the image ( though I knew )
Or what quote is attributed to it...it was merely handy at the time...
To HemiHead :
This , was not directed at you , I am sure you know...
"Nice of them...
Just believe differently"
Yet at the idea of doctors , nurses , whatever they are...
Asking us to stay home...
Just face it...some of us just are not going to be trapped ,
or locked up...in or out , by our own will...
That is all...;)

Okay, I think I have this percentage thingie figured out.
Closed ( not total ) cases ( as of right now ): 107,793
Recovered/Discharged: 94,793 =88%
Deaths: 13,000 = 12%
So the death rate for closed cases has been 12%
The overall death rate for ALL cases ( both active and closed = 196,808 ) is 6.605 = 7%
Is that right?! Has it jumped that much since our discussion last night?! Or did I hit the calculator wrong?

Oh for fuck's sake. No one is holding a damn AK47 to your head threatening you not to leave. You are being asked nicely for the sake of others. But, if it comes down to enforcement, it's going to be PRICELESS to see you tell them that as they haul your ass off the streets for the safety and protection of others.

You would be perhaps surprised , ( or not ) , that I
would rather go to my death than have my freedom compromised...;)
By the way , I did not start any arguments here...
Just had a difference of opinion...
However , I note you do not like that in threads , many times ( not all ) ,
however , this is an open thread...we *are* allowed to post differing opinions...

Thanks! I was just tabbing over to look for it! There is another style that I was looking for as well. If I find that one I will deposit as well. (Unless you find it first )
Not criticizing but how can we be sure these masks are virus-free they will not be sterile does sterility not matter otherwise we could pull a t-shirt over our face
I do sew and would be tempted to make some if I knew of a suitable fabric
Any suggestions
BUT...I was in Las Vegas last week for 4 days I won't know if I contracted the virus until the incubation is over and I am safe If I were to make masks without knowing it could be deadly for others How can we be sure we are virus-free unless we have had no contact for a certain period of time?
I saw a video from Italy the citizens we're saying the ignored it at first which allowed the virus to run rampart The woman speaking said it's not enough to think about yourself getting the virus it's Time for us to think about how we might make others sick in doing what we do

Correct. The 12% figure is based on cases that have had an outcome (meaning confirmed either recovered, or dead). All the others are confirmed cases that have not yet recovered, or died, meaning they are still sick.
Of everyone that has got a confirmed case, whether still sick, recovered, or dead, the total mortality rate is 4%.

Alright, I think it's been established that certain people won't be forced to stay indoors or to keep a safe distance from people so as not to put others in harm. that's fair enough. it's been said. and re-said
if that is the sum total of a person's contribution. let it end here.
this narrative is taking away from something which is turning out to be quite informative. and frankly, if I may say, reads quite juvenile
please continue

You would truly enjoy seeing him get knocked down maybe shot by authorities for standing up for his freedom?
Crisis brings out thee real deal doesn't it?

All you're doing is repeating yourself over, and over, and over. We get it. We got it pages back. You keep addressing practically EVERY SINGLE POST that is not EVEN directed at you ( for example, the image of the doctors and nurses who are practically living at hospitals away from their own families ) with the same thing, over and over and over.
We GET IT. Believe me, we GET IT. For someone who doesn't want to argue, you seem very argumentative and attention-seeking by repeating your opinion to almost every post.
I think that's what Hemi was referring to about his interpretation of what you said about hearing your opinion voiced. I certainly agree with him.

There is a difference in standing up for one's freedom and endangering the lives of others. If the time comes that we are required to stay in our homes, and Blackwolf refuses ( as he's said numerous times he will ), then yes, I support him ( and any others not compliant ) being arrested to protect the health and safety of others. Shot? Never entered my mind.
It would be no different than getting a drunk driver off the road to protect the lives of others.
Crisis does bring out "thee real": it separates the self centered from those who care about others.

Is that from the calculations I provided you with? Why was getting 6%?

The only people being tested are very sick. Doesn't that skew everything? They say DON'T test unless already ill.
The people in air conditioned hospitals have got to be at greatest risk based on the articles about air conditioning on the virus. Hubby was telling me about it.
Last place I'd want to try to get better is in a hospital or similar building.
My mind isn't in cement. I have a lot of questions. Ten kids looking to us for answers, too.
Still alarmed at the economic meltdown this metaphorical "theatre fire" hypothesis has caused.

We will NEVER know with certainty the full extent of statistics. Nor how many flu victims actually had covid-19.
We work with what we have, and we move forward.
And while yes, there is an economic meltdown, there is also hope. Power companies are forgoing disconnects. Banks are forgoing foreclosures. Phone companies forgoing disconnects. The IRS is delaying taxes for three months interest and penalty free. Low income children are getting fed. I've been posting a lot of good news in these threads.
Yes, there is a lot of scary stuff happening, but there is a lot of good. What do you tell your children? Tell them what Mr. Roger's mother told him: Look for the helpers. And, if possible, become one.

You seem very fixated on the idea of being locked in your house. You know people are allowed to go outside right? If they aren’t, then you are in an Italy situation where the disease is in outbreak, ie not contained, and regardless of your brave talk now, you won’t want to go out. If your country, once it arrives, doesn’t do the voluntary one, you get an outbreak, then you get what Italy has, and you have to do the second one.
You seem to be labouring under the misnomer that there are no other people in these situations that feel like you, or that your opinions on your freedom will matter when a disease in is fill-on outbreak. No one in Italy is hitting the streets now, even though they are all hating it, because that’s not their current reality, and they are trying to save each other’s lives. That’s why they sing from their balconies....to claim the freedom of solidarity against a common enemy.
To the person talking about masks, the value of a mask is mostly to stop sick people spreading it. If you google the size of the covid 19 virus you will see that only a correctly fitted mask down to the finest of dust particles will do it. No one you see on the streets wearing a mask is wearing them correctly fitted (no gaps around sides of nose etc), but they feel good about it.
As a measure to stop/reduce the virus spreading they do have value, so keep using them, just don’t believe it’s stopping you getting sick. Plenty of research on this. You wear them in case you are sick. (Ps, at these sizes, a teeshirt is like holding a tennis racket over your mouth....look it up)
When in doubt, put the mask on the sick person.

(Anybody know?) Does Barbara Loe Fisher have anything to say?
If I hadn't seen so much abuse of our trust by industry science about infectious disease I could just sit back and give this effort more of a thumbs up.
And then there's the little nasty truth about the many barrels of live viral material improperly guarded worldwide.
Maybe we should just do the Kosher thing... not stick literal crap in our arms OR sneeze on each other...
